Yeah here's a reason to complain

Oh I know the pain when your powerful build is nerfed. They nerfed the Gears of Dreadlands build (demon Hunter) and I cried and I cried for days :sob:
But I managed to get over it and thanks to ethereal weapons in season 24 I’ve gotten higher (in GRs) than ever before.
I also played Firebird years ago when it performed well. Then it became obsolete and I played other characters and builds that were much stronger. The new Firebird is extremely good. Better than ever before. So my tears today are tears of joy

Please explain this to me I am having a hard time understanding why people would actually like this scenerio: You spend the most time on your favorite character in Diablo 3 since launch, where the developers promise updates and such for players to enjoy. So you keep playing your favorite character. You find a build to make for them that’s one of the few cookie cutter builds available. Suddenly the game is introduced to seasons and the build you made is useless. You can’t carry any progress over to seasons, and being a player who doesn’t like starting over with nothing every time voice my concerns on the forums. Imagine getting trolled on the forums like 8 years ago just like paying customers are trolled still today when you voice legitimate concerns and reasons to complain. So you speak up and get ignored, just completely ignored, and then your build and favorite character becomes a brick. But go play the new season they say, with the items only available that allows you to kill end game content after buffs and nerfs in the seasonal play through. But I don’t want to play ladder or seasonal. Hmm So my character is unable to complete the end game content and I don’t care to do a season. Might as well quit playing. Oh that is what happened to me the first time.

I came back a few years later to see developments. Wow I see so many updates the game maybe fun now. Try a season for the incentives and play a bit. Feels exactly the same. Ehhh ok I’ll keep playing. Fully gear a toon, season ends, toons nerfed, bosses are buffed, all that time was wasted again.

Should I try another season like another 7 years later? Sure I’ll try it. Play it for ten minutes. Uninstall. Not much changed in like 7 years since the last real content introduced was the Necromancer.

There’s an expansion in between there. You might even paid money for the items you bought from the Auction House but it doesn’t matter because better items just drop from the game at random occassions now.

The reason it changed drastically only because of balance concerns, due the power progress scale aiming for way higher numbers after the expansion pack. This also caused game to introduce faster combat with elites instead of being a walk in the park or tackling each enemy with the same linear tactics. Dynamic combat was the selling point of the game and they pushed it forward.

You may not be happy with this, but developers are obliged to keep game integrity and balance for masses; not keep one individual happy. As for any changes to classic, it’s a marketing technique, Diablo 3 is free-to-play in China and when they upgrade, they get Reaper of Souls expansion pack. Changes is for keeping new introduced players not get alienated from the game. Otherwise, they’d have to deal with more people like you.

But a lot of players quit playing. You can tell by the response and feedback. I’m not alone feeling this way. It was being robbed if you did pay with real cash. I played my wizard up until I couldn’t and seasons where introduced. The game was designed originally to become easy with the best gear. So you trying to come up with some lame excuse doesn’t change my mind. How about we keep it real? In fact it still is easy with the best gear. Just saw a build to clear 150 GR in 2 minutes. How is that hard?

How is it hard for you to grasp, you had a LVL 60 critical mass build in VANILLA, then came ROS wich you also bought and introduced alot of stuff plus max LVL 70. You know this.

You saw a video of PTR with some broken elements wich will be taken care of. You know this.

When where seasons introduced? If you want to keep facts straight, I would have been playing my wizard still if they didn’t make non seasonal characters useless. Oh but just play non seasonal they say meanwhile the mobs and gear is so messed up from the seasonal updates that carry over you can’t even play the crap properly.

Edit : Here I googled it Seasons are Diablo 3’s version of the [Diablo 2] Ladders, and they were added to [Reaper of Souls] in Patch 2.1 in August 2014 . When a season is active, players can make new characters (hardcore or softcore) and click the ā€œSeasonal Heroā€ button during creation.

Diablo 3 is a decade old game, sure you can see some lack of interest from the public as better candidates come up in ARPG genre and other newer games stepping up.

Most of the players quit at Diablo 3 release because servers were a mess and DRM was widely restrictive. Some of the players quit because game wasn’t keeping previous game’s DnD roots and sailed for Warhammer. D3:RoS is a decade old game and kept their whine going for years. Some of the players quit because game took a long hike away from its roots after expansion pack. All between this sort of reasoning, yours sound the most weird one. Are you unhappy that you’re unable to keep your linear combat comfort?

Those people who paid tons of money to trade are already rich and I reckon they still treat Diablo 3 as an investment. There’s a blackmarket if you care for such thing.

From the core it was based on item power. When they aim for the high numbers, they introduced Sets so they can control the outcome; so, items went from being a force to modify the build to the pieces that determine an entire build.

That’s a PTR test server for Seasonal theme of Season 25; which is not something supposed to be any balanced. A few seasons ago, we had a zDPS barbarian clearing GR150 in a few minutes with Trials of Tempest theme.
Upcoming PTR changes is not in game yet and nerfs are always in question. Stop holding something that would get wiped in a week or two against the game. I know you have a personal grudge but that’s an odd excuse to come up with.

Crit mas was still viable up until seasons began your argument is moot Chris. Perhaps get your facts straight.

Season were introduced after ROS, after your critical mass build had any relevance.

You are purposely making less and less sense.

You are so ignorant. Only rich people paid for loot? Umm. Sure pal. You admit many players quit right? At least we can agree that most players quit.

You can check google trends, compared to 10 years ago the interest on Diablo 3 is around 5% of what it was right now.

Smart people profit tons from that too.

Umm sure where is the proof? Does it show you player count currently and active users that are not bots or teams paid to farm loot to sell? When I pull up google trends it is showing me there was a spike around ROS expansion that dropped and ever since it has been stagnant. Maybe we aren’t looking at the same chart?

What? Why do you need that? What do you want to prove? If you wanna know how many people have money to invest in this game or botting, then check their communities.

Because you probably read the chart wrong and it’s probably 5% interest since launch where it was 100% interest with the most players of all time. Maybe I read your statement wrong? You are saying the game is more popular then it has ever been even during launch? LOL

Perhaps. It jumps between 1-3% along the last year, not even 5%. At the time of Reaper of Souls I remember it was 5% but appears it’s around 21%. Why do you exactly need player numbers? I just said, along this 10 years public lost interest rather quickly. Take a look at the peak at 2012.

Ok we are agreeing and I read your statement incorrectly I apologize. Yeah I see a major spike after Reaper of Souls was launched and a major drop off around when seasons where introduced. Feel free to keep proving me wrong.

Forum warriors need player numbers for their agenda. If player numbers were an important metric they would be required to be reported or asked for by investors. It really is a meaningless statistic.

Does he also complain about PoE losing 75% or more of its total league players after 4 weeks of that league starting. The facts are with all games when new content drops, players come back. After that content is consumed, they leave. If devs were concerned about this they would develop content differently. They aren’t. WoW devs have said multiple times to people whining about content droughts or content they don’t like to unsub and come back when there is more or something they like.

It feels like I’m a volunteer who enjoyed the game so much and doesn’t enjoy it at all trying to help fix the game for free but keep getting trolled. Like if you want to change my opinion please present facts and rebuttals to my arguments and questions. Most of my questions go un answered which is ok because most are rhetorical. And these die hard season lovers are just a bit much to handle at times. I suppose that’s why Blizzard caves in and caters to them lol.

Says a guy who believes that the streamers get better loot than other players

Don’t know why I even bother with this stupid thread?

How else do they have BIS gear within a week of D2R launching with the forum filled with complaints about not finding any over a month after launch with veterans from D2 included.
