But how often are games going “POOF!” without warning?
Even with a warning, you lose your stuff. The notification being a few weeks before or a few months in the future doesn’t change that outcome. I’ve seen some just “soft close” where the devs go radio silent and updates/events stop where players eventually just bleed away, too.
Some posters at DI Reddit said that their country blocked it due to loot box rules in their country.
Im fully aware. I bought stuff in Swtor and Sto but there is no indication I lose my investment any time soon.
When you are talking about parents in 2022, BehindTimes, you aren’t talking about Boomers.
You are talking about the tail end of the Millennials.
Montenegro. South-Eastern Europe. I could not find it on any block list.
Having not personally played those, I can’t say what they’ve done or not has been for the betterment of gamers. I suspect there may be a bit of “too big to fail” given the IP association going on, which played a big part of FFXIV’s rescue and overhaul, but lesser franchises and unknown games don’t have this safety net, either.
They arent that much different than we experience with Blizzard games. Greedy companies, incompetent devs, lying community managers, fan-zealots, whales, entitled elite players, more bugs than a starship troopers movie without indication of incoming fixes but lots of new stuff for the ingame store. The usual.
Or in short: Hate the company, love the game. Its a love/hate relationship.
I did buy microtransactions
Eh, it worked well enough. I’m not a lore maniac and didn’t nitpick too much into it.
I would wager a guess it is related to gambling laws. Some other countries don’t allow any sort of real money for a gamble/chance at something in game. I am obviously not a lawyer though nor do I have any knowledge of the laws in your country.
Obviously those were separate teams.
But it’s equally obvious that Blizzard treats the Diablo franchise as a whole.
They have more ressources so now they wanna conquer the mobile market. Fine. That’s their thing. From a business perspective I can understand that.
Still doesn’t change my opinion. If there would be no mobile gaming market than those ressources wouldve been spent on D3 & D4.
So yeah, I’m skipping on the game for the reasons mentioned before.
They still stand true and have nothing to do with what the OP suggested.
They never said that D4 was going to be announced, they never said anything about D4.
They never mentioned it, but the image of the four-sided die was about as big of a hint as anyone could get. Just like they showed some images of Diablo from D2 in a couple of things. BOTH just prior to announcing Immortal. They did that, and people were right to expect to hear something about either of those instead of Immortal.
And about a month out they told us all not to expect a D4 announcement.
Blizzard entering the mobile market was an expansion choice from corporate that more than likely, use assets on hand not already budgeted for active projects. So it’s doubtful any resources were diverted from D3 or D4 to make DI.
They also have a habit of misdirecting, denying, and surprising people. So you never really know. I’m simply saying hints were given. Hints that shouldn’t have been put out if there were no intentions of saying something about those two projects and instead they were going to announce a mobile game to a PC fanbase. It was all handled very poorly.
But, as I said in my comment about whether I would try it: It was in 2018. Personally, it’s silly to stay as mad as some are over a game announcement and a dumb comment from 3-4 years ago.
They were pretty upfront about not having a D4 announcement in the weeks before Blizzcon 2018. So we did know. I mean, they were originally planning it but there was not much to share, hence the announcement to tone down the self hype from players. Obviously they should have said we are working on D4 and will share stuff when we have something ready, but in the meantime, here’s DI.
Im going to download it and give it a go. It doesnt cost me anything to try it. If I really like it and they have some monthly pass, I might consider doing that.
I just hope that the super whales who toss $5,000 to $10,000 opening day dont cause the diablo team to start nerfing things to compensate for the super power creep those massive whales will be spending. You might laugh and think no one does that, but I know first hand, people go crazy over becoming the “best” in a game. I’m in a few clans in different mobile games and 1 guy admitted he spends between $10,000 US to $25,000 a month on one game since he doesnt do drugs/drink or have any other bad habits and no kids so he figures spend it before he dies.
Even in clash, I’m in a clan that the leader spends $500 to $2,500 a month on clash (mainly since they just added a new game feature) lol
$10,000 US to $25,000 a month on one game since he doesnt do drugs/drink or have any other bad habits and no kids so he figures spend it before he dies.
I’m all for spending the cash you have, but holy hell, 300 000, or about 6 times the average yearly salary, a year on a mobile game? Your issues have issues there.
Supporting DI and D2R is bad for the Diablo franchise. You support P2W and botting.
Botting is prevalent in every form of Diablo out there. By your disjointed logic we should just kill off the whole franchise. ![]()
Also, quit with the ridiculous hashtags. This isn’t Twitter or Instagram or Facebook or wherever you post your brunch photos.
Hard to get that through some people’s heads on here. That’s clearly a problem and I think people that refuse to see it as such are probably just in denial over their own issues.
