Blizz has very little incentive to put a priority on D3. They want people who haven’t to buy D4 and play that. Seasons have been jank ever since D4’s release, and they’ll stay that way in perpetuity.
ETA: I would not be surprised if seasons for D3 turn into a bi-annual affair going forward, either, so as to allow for more focus on D4.
