Have you considered the “valid point” was to alleviate poster’s concerns with facts about the game being an isometric view during gameplay?
I am talking about you, as you were the one to say
If you don’t have any arguments why current models should not be changed aside from "I don’t care for “trite and shallow matters” ". Move along and don’t derail the topic.
But since you’ve been regular to this topic, clearly you do care, and don’t want to voice the actual reason why you’re against the change. Which is :
You’re “pushing back against people stuck in the past” in a topic discussing 20 y.o. game. Cause you’re sick of people that want it to stick to the original.
So not even a game related, it’s just your personal agenda against certain type of people.
You’re in a wrong place to do it, we’re here to get a quality game, not push your personal agenda against anybody.
Again, this topic isn’t an echo chamber.
If I, personally, feel that the model isn’t a big deal, and doesn’t really need to be changed, I am allowed to say so in the thread dedicated to the matter.
If you don’t like it, that is not my problem.
You have contributed more to derailing this thread so far than I have by focusing on imaginary rules you invented.
I have done nothing but remain on topic.
The topic is about the Amazon’s model.
I personally believe that it does not need to be changed as a priority right now.
That is my opinion on the topic’s subject, the Amazon’s model. =)
Do you know what is off topic though? Inventing rules and trying to enforce them because you believe any input in this thread should conform to your standards of discussion.
The amazon’s model face is not good, too old and looks like a man.
The paladin’s model face DOES NOT look like the original. The original one looks like he is from Tunisia or Morocco.
The assassin’s model face DOES NOT look like the original. The original one looks like she is from Thailand or Eastern Europe and MUCH younger.
The barbarian’s size DOES NOT look like the original, smaller and flabbier. He needs to look like Arnold from Conan the Barbarian.
The sorceress’ face DOES NOT look like the original, she needs to look like Elizabeth Taylor from Cleopatra, much younger and prettier.
The druid’s face and necromancer’s face look ok, but they need to overall look younger and slimmer.
Give us options for different faces and body types, that would be a viable solution. It wouldn’t take that much work to do.
That’s a progress, and still your argument in favor of this is? The “I don’t care how the models look, hence people that ask for change should not get it”, is this correct?
I’ve said my opinion multiple times already.
The model faces are inconsequential because you will not be looking at them more than 0.1% of the time you are playing, and honestly, the actual number is far less than that. You will take a look at them once at the character creation screen and then pretty much never again for any meaningful period of time that would justify calling this game ruined over the faces looking subpar.
Saying that this ruins the game is hyperbole at best and malicious trolling at worst.
I went here to check my post and if I got a refund aaaand… no refund yet and my post was deleted marked as @trolling@. So someone think if I do NOT want to support DEVS decision to remake sexy characters as UGLY characters this is a trolling. I assure everyone it is not. And I do not want to support company who does that. If we are talking about freedom of thinking I believe I have freedom to like to play beautiful characters and to do not like to play an ugly one.
If you want a refund you need to put in a Support Ticket requesting it. Here is a direct link to the Refund ticket for D2R. Blizzard Support - Contact Support
Thanks! I repeated a ticket, it should work right now. By the way thanks for constructive discussion in this topic, I enjoied your posts a lot!
That’s just what I said, with some extra steps.
And what is “game ruining” then? In a remake that only touches graphics, sloppy job on said graphics is not “game ruining”?
And so the original dev that created the original amazon is just a malicious troll, I take it? As he clearly called out it as censoring as well and called people to boycott it altogether for that.
When you see a green person in a thread - duck and cover. That’s usually when posts start to get flagged/deleted and people getting banned. Remember, that the best defence against provocations and trolling is the IGNORE button. Because all they really want to do is to delete this thread. Do you want all this amazing discussions and feedback gone? I don’t. But one such thread is already gone. Can’t give you any more details or links about it, because it will get reported, deleted and I’ll be banned for it.
Just check how much better this whole thread looks with IGNORE button enabled:

Green text people have no moderation powers whatsoever.
Actually going back on this topic, I’ve noticed that they deleted several of green posts as well, so it’s probably some actual moderator at work.
Moderators do not solely delete posts that break the rules, they also delete posts that were quoting or replying to rule-breaking posts so as to remove the offending post entirely and not let it keep existing via a quote or reply. This is standard practice on almost all online forums.
I’ve noticed that too, but the thing is - the green person is still green and continues to troll people. But others are gone for good. Very convenient.
Being told your posts are against the ToS/offensive isn’t being trolled, but OK.
The former Producer was not a Dev, if that is who you are talking about. Said person worked on various games, but his usual claim to fame is being one of the WoW team leads. He left Blizzard in 2006. You might really want to look into his history and stances before jumping on that band wagon. His major theme for years has been “anti censorship”. He has been widely discredited and panned in the broader gaming industry. He uses conflict to garner attention and drama - usually for personal gain.
So no, if that is who you are talking about, Blizzard is NOT going to give any weight to his opinion.
I think what amuses me the most is that people automatically assume that this is censorship. Maybe it’s just incompetence? I mean, look, I’m NOT trying to say that whoever made the Amazon’s new model is incompetent, that is super not where I’m going with this.
But it’s funny to me that people IMMEDIATELY jumped onto the political commentary bandwagon and didn’t even give much thought to the idea that maybe the modeler just did a bad job, you know? Had a bad day or five when making the new faces. Didn’t mean anything by it, just didn’t do a great job.
Or maybe they just thought, all these fans are talking about how dark and gritty D2’s atmosphere, tone and art style is, maybe I can make the characters match that a bit better, let’s see how that goes.
And now that’s all the posts are screeching. This supposed censorship that absolutely no source has confirmed, but hey, these random posters on the internet must know what they’re talking about, yeah?
Yeah, I’ll take a word from an original dev team member over your speculations any day of the week.
