The problem is that she’s an already established character, and looks nothing like the original.

Yup older people generally weren’t warriors, They don’t have the stamina nor do they recover from wounds as fast as younger people nor heal as quickly. From everything I’ve seen and or read a fighter older than 40 was ancient considered too old and broken down to fight, Remember also that medicine was very primitive and or ignorant and frequently consisted of items and ingredients that killed more often than cured even in the 1800’s OTH even today doctors can be pretty 
stupid PS I’ll be 68 this year and I can attest how hard it is keeping up with the kids back in 2006 I was struck by a SUV and thrown 10 feet had three broken ribs,A broken collar bone a concussion and the one thing that absolutely put me on my back was a chipped right knee

Same with sorceress btw, we have a 40++ y.o. sorceress in d2r, yet the first thing akara says to her is literally “greetings, young sorceress” .

I think Sorceress is the closest model of the original game. Every other model needs serious rework. Especially Assassin and Amazon.

I agree, it’s the best model among them, but it’s still quite bad. I understand what they were aiming for with these ugly characters, but it’s a total miss and should be redone from a scratch.

Because these days you can identify as a carrot, or a salamander if you want to. The Amazon is probably with the times now and identifies as a man-faced brute who is easily offended by everything and somehow is probably racist now too. #Remaster

I propose that we create a different, well written and well structured thread about this whole situation. There should be provided a detailed and factual comparison between D2 original characters design and D2R ones, with screenshots, artwork and etc. It can easily be proven that current D2R models are extremely different from the original design.
The main points:
- This is a remaster, not a remake. Devs should stay true to their promise.
- Characters should look as close to the original ones as possible.
- Adding details to the environment is not the same as completely changing player characters. It is too much!
Also it is very important to hear their reasoning about it. Assasin is now Asian? Okay. Can you please provide original artworks or lost lore where it is the same? No? Then why she is Asian? Why not make her an elf? An orc? A dwarf? A salamander? Is D2R setting 20 years later than D2:LOD? No? Then why all the characters are 20+ years older now?
Popular streamers are now calling amazon as granmazon, manazon and trapazon. So she is now a funny meme, I don’t like that. Why does she look so ridiculous now? I don’t want to play a meme/clown character. The last time the same thing happened was when people started calling W3R as Warcraft 3 REFUNDED… A bad sign. A very bad sign. I would reeeealy want to hear their answers.
I would create this thread myself, but English is my third language so it won’t be as effective. Can someone who is really good with words and editing do this please? I keep seening this same negative feedback across many platforms (reddit, youtube, twitch and etc), but I’m afraid devs won’t do anything if we won’t escalate this issue.
Some people here claim that they don’t care how characters look. Okay, but many people do. Please respect that.

Just looking now at the picture, It’s not only the looks of the amazon that feels very off to me, It’s the whole posture and position of the animations etc. The way she holds the javelin etc Is completely wrong vs the original
