I just wanted to share my opinion surrounding the current state of the new Amazon’s appearance.
We have an elite female warrior who is suppose to be light on her feet. Her available skills include Dodge, Evade and Avoid.
If we’re going for ‘realism’ because the original was too sexualized - How many elderly people do we see in the Olympics or active professional sports that require fast and flexible body movements? Are we going to pretend that elderly people out perform their younger counterparts in these fields?
Is the Amazon suppose to be athletic, nimble and dexterous? Athletic does not equate to haggard and bulky. The original lore for the Amazon was that they had intrinsically superior dexterity and lithe bodies. We don’t need two Barbarians.
Her angular face isn’t the issue, it’s the beguilingly worn-down face that only occurs from the passage of time. Does the leathery face match the origins of the Amazon? She is suppose to hail from lush island forests in the Twin Seas. Currently looks like she’s already been through the harsh sunlight of Aranoch three times, on hell.
