Why do you even WANT personal loot? What problem are you trying to solve?

for one small moment lets ignore how it completely breaks the game… how it would alter the core balance of how player join… why they contribute to the party… and that d2 isnt a game about following high level players and getting stuff for free. lets ignore that adding personal loot would make flood the game with a bunch of people with MF gear. completely alter party play and p[layer iteration on a fundamental level on a

lets ignore all that…
lets just ask

WHY THE BLOODY HELL DO YOU EVEN WANT THIS IN THE FIRST PLACE?

what is SOOOOO broken with the current system that it needs a change.

the only think that is being considered for this game right now is “quality of life”

improvements
what are you GETTING from this.

why do u even WANT this

for all the arguments i hear people trying to bury their head in the sand and say “and pretend it wont drastically break everything”

i have not seen ONE SINGLE PERSON explain to me WHY you want this in the first place…

so im asking

WHY DO YOU EVEN WANT THIS?
how does this benefit you?
what are you getting out of this.

and if you are going to flat out tell me that “you cant grab the loot in time”
then try to explain to me WHY that is.

because i have hand tremors, my hands shake… i cant click accurately on anything less than a half inch by half inch square… with anything more than roughly 60% accuracy and it takes me like 2-3 click on average to click on an item on the ground.

and i can pick up loot JUST FINE in an 8 player game as long as its not a boss with 8 players on top of it

so tell me… WHAT IS THE PROBLEM THAT NEEDS FIXING HERE?

What is the problem of having an optional personal loot room? You can continue to share yours. It doesn’t hurt you at all.

How? xD, it is the opposite to combat botting. Botters will make private games with 8x drops, gg.

Personal loot only feets leeches that cant play the game to get their share of others effort.

the excuse blizzard has been been making for 15 years is that “the game is too old to implement proper protection against bots” we don’t have the capacity to catch them properly on such old code"

they no longer have that excuse… if bots end up being problem in d2 are people are going to “rip blizzard a new one”… ( courtesy of ratchet and clank).

Because D2 was the game that showed me FFA loot blows hard. Every game I’ve played since then had personal loot so I don’t have to fight over it with other players. I actually can get some loot. I did so many runs where I got no drops at all while probably being over 50% of the reason no one died. That meant I 100% had to MF solo to find the gear I wanted/needed. After 15 years of games where I don’t fight with you over that drop, going back to fighting over drops is…bad

That said I am firmly in the camp of no pLoot, I’d tend to say the coding for the modern pLoot in games is probably bigger than the 1.9 gig that D2 originally was. It also breaks so much of the game it would be unrecognizable.

I also don’t think it should be an option because we will all turn it off when we go solo farm so we get more drops. The option option is just a way of saying I want lower guaranteed individual drops in group games but don’t touch my farming run drops.

i have answer that question over 10 times… even at the start of this thread… why dont you answer mine…

and also saying “it donest hurt me at all”

when what you just said is " you are going to take away the drop i could have picked up and make it so i cant pick them up" and your trying to tell me that “it donest hurt me?” WUT?

A botter would need to have absolutely no idea about drop rates to do this. They would be better off running 8 separate password games than waste 8 bots in 1 game.

The math doesn’t work. It’s why people bot public games in D2 instead of passworded private games.

Man, we are in different rooms! You are in share loot room and I am in personal loot room! We are in different games!

The FFA loot in D2 was awesome. Why would they change that? Also, the loot drops based on who kills the enemy and your magic find bonus. Why would you have loot evenly distributed? Nonsense.

??? the people who bot in public game are doing it for exp… not loot… there is less loot in public games than u would get by simply putting your all your bots into 1 game and having them each run a separate area…

the public game bot are using the way the exp formula works. and how it gives more exp to higher lvls…

but of course u don’t know this… eyeroll

Though I’m sure some botters are doing it for their personal use, there are many botters that run with pickit in Public games to sell runes for real money or on 3rd party sites.

The drop rates in public games are much better for HRs.

Many of these public bots are already lvl 99. If it was for experience, they’d shut their bots down. You’re wrong on this one.

D2 always had FFA loot. And i never seen that devs said personal loot ever comes. Currently you are somewhere else.

Personal loot is an official question in Blizzard survey. At least there is a possibility. Time will tell.

Yes time will tell. And we are now in the present not in the future so your room problem is solved.

Do you understand what would be changed as a result? Not everyone stays with each other the entire time during a game. Someone could be killing Blood Raven, while another person could be killing Andariel. The game isn’t like D3 at all.

I think we are talking about D2R, a future game, not D2, a present game.

The scripting for having 8 bots in 1 game running 8 different areas is a lot more work than bots running baalruns. Most botters are copypasta on public bot scripts, it’s actually more effort than you’re making it out to be. Frequent some botting forums and you’ll learn more about it.

You can still join share loot room and everything is the same for you.

That would be like people getting to chose Hardcore and Softcore on a whim. As long as your in the game it affects you, but the next game you can just change it. That seems extremely off-putting.
