When D4 launches

What will your play style be?

  1. Blow past everything as fast as possible to get to the endgame content I do not care about anything else.

  2. Take my time and check out everything I am into the lore and world. The end game will always be there.

  3. I will just complain about D4 on the D3 forum like I do now.

  4. I will quit D4 before it even starts. (we all know who that will be).

  5. I do not have any major plains, I will adjust as I move along.

  6. I am a D2 fanboy I do not care about D4.

  7. I am an Immortal fanboy I do not care about D4.

  8. I am now a PoE fanboy who likes to troll on the Diablo forums. I do not care about Diablo anymore.

  9. I will hold off at launch to see how things are going first.

  1. Not buy it, but stick around for the schadenfreude looking at all the whining and impotent rage that people will inevitably post all over the internet.

I really want the game to be good and generally liked by players but… We’ll just have to wait and see

We already know at least half the players won’t even be able to play on launch. Just like every other game they launch.

i will check it out ofc and see if i like it (i might even know that by the time the last blog post is out) and see how i can build my character then i will start to explore the world while doing the story and enjoying the loot. and if i am not bored by the time finishing it i will engage in coop and pvp

#2 for me take my time, I don’t care if others max out paragon before me. I want to see how the lore unfolds.

and if I deem it good (or better) then

Number nine for me. There’s no way I’ll pre-order, and I doubt I’ll buy it at launch. I’ll probably await non-NDA-limited reviews showing not only the gameplay but also the actual monetisation model they’ve implemented before deciding if to purchase it.

Option #2:

I like to scour every nook and cranny when I play a new game. I pick one character and play the heck out of it until I get the itch to play a different one.

I’ll start with the Barbarian, like I did with D2 and D3. Since druid is in the original cast line up, I’ll go with the fatty mcfatfat until I decide I need a bit of a game break or try out the rouge. I know it won’t be anything like D1, but hopefully it won’t seem like a rip off of the assassin from the D2 xpack or the demon hunter from D3.

I don’t care too much for the caster classes in D3, nothing like D1 or D2, so I will hold off on the necro and sorcerer for a while.

I will try out as much content as I can solo, because I am an introvert mainly when it comes to gaming. After I solo for a while, getting to know the ins and outs of the game, I’ll dip my toes into the public pool and hope it’s not filled with piss and grime.

Edit.

If my D3 clanmates are playing D4, then I will game with them first before dealing with any pubs or pugs.

With the way that Blizzard launches seem to be going these days, I imagine my playstyle will be “complain on the forums that I can’t get past the 5 hour queue times and server issues”.

After that, probably see how good character building is in the game and see how viable different things feel.

  1. Will not buy for at least a year, and if no f-ups happen, than #2.

Im very much on the hype train for D4. What I’ve seen so far looks to have a lot of depth and replayability.

I will be diving in as soon as I am able and just enjoy the new content and leveling again. it’s hard to replicate that new game/first time feeling. I plan to embrace it and take my time.

9 and if deemed worth buying 1.

I’ll wait until the initial phases of patches deal with the most obviously broken things and then I will try a druid, assuming it exists. Mostly because I miss them and can’t stomach D2:R these days… it is just too slow, in every way, but mostly in the speed the character walks.

[Edit]

So #9. And then, I’ll go slow. Not because I care about the world or the story but because I want to actually enjoy the game and rushing to end game means bypassing potential.

2 as always. Never got the rush to the end mentslity. I plan to find all 150 dungeons before I leave the campaign.

Probably 3

JK, probably gonna play “casual” but at hardest diff (meaning something like 3 characters in parallel, one to “break the ice” (most likely a Storm Druid  ) with, another to “build the coolest possible character” (Bone+Curse “death knight” Necro) and a 3rd to have “hardest possible challenge” (glass-cannon melee Rogue) tried)

BUT, just as you can see, if the power differences between classes/builds are significant and some kind of playstyle becomes “frustrating” could very well end up at “3” :stuck_out_tongue:

2 for sure, this time.

I’m in no hurry, I want to absorb as much as possible.

I am still cautious, blame Immortal for that, the grouping shenanigans ruined it for me, among other things, so we’ll see what the public beta brings to the table before getting too excited.

I will always adjust as I move along.
There will be an actual D4 forum so all my bile will go there.

I would not be so sure about that. Unless you like Reddit.

We don’t have Diablo IV forums yet because we typically don’t stand forums up until closer to launch. For example D2R didn’t get their forums until right at launch and even for beta we had subsections for D2R in D3.

Immortal and D4 currently don’t have forums and one thing we have been looking at is whether we move community conversations off forums for those titles and more onto other platforms such as Reddit or Discord (an example). :point_up_2:

People still discuss D4 on our D2/D3 forums. We look at feedback there. We look for feedback here. We check social media and we even look at various gaming forums like ResetEra and the such.

Well I’m being hopeful! But we will see.

this forum is toxic and full of trolls. reddit and discord would be an improvement.
