What would Season 35 be like without the Altar?

I found this 6-minute video by @TrepChains. It’s from Season 19 and she’s playing her Demon Hunter Solo. Of course, it’s from a time before we had the Altar of Rites. But, I thought you might be interested in reminiscing. Or, if you’re new to D3, get an idea of what to expect.

Two things to consider:

  1. The Kill-count powers start at Level 1. If you’re lucky enough to get 1,000 kills… Good luck!
  2. We will have the Altar of Rites this time. (Obviously, how much it helps will depend on how much you unlock).

As a HC player, getting 1 shot is a 4 letter word combo bonus rage quit.

As a HC player watching someone else get 1 shot is hilarious.

Saw the Trepchains video yesterday. So on higher difficulty (in GRs) if you don’t or can’t time the special effects with the spawning of the rift guardian, for example, the ‘only’ extra buff you have is the pandemonium power (which should be 50% added damage at a 500 kill streak) on top of what the Altar gives you.

So as long as you keep tagging or killing monsters at 500 kills, then you will maintain the 500 kill bonus is that how it works? And if you stop tagging or killing then the bonus will expire?

That’s what I would expect? Like what I found on Maxroll:

Like what is said about keeping the stacks in the “Additional mechanics” section. Also talked about in another thread where the altar will help keeping up the kill streak stacks.
