What happened to Natalya set?

I’m really sad to learn about Natalya set has been killed off? Rain of Vengeance is no more? N6M4 elemental arrow is gone? This is really sad to me. Why did they kill the set off?

N6M4 should not even exist. It never should’ve taken the place of M6. The problem was that N6M4 was better than M6 which was idiotic thing.

Obviously the new iteration of Natalya isn’t what people expected but at least it killed off that N6M4 nonsense.

In short: M6 today does what N6M4 did before but with more flexibilty. The loss of N6M4 is utterly meaningless.

Like over 2 years ago they killed it.

As Kirottu said, it conflicted too much with Marauders. You also had the problem with it using Strafe. It was basically another GoD build. I think they wanted to make it unique.

The new build is fun in small doses and requires a decent amount of skill to play correctly. Played in large doses, you will get carpal tunnel.

As others said.

But the new Nat’s is decent and is actually more powerful than old N6M4. In fact, Nat’s is now the strongest build for the DH. So, powerful that you can remove an Offensive Legendary Gem and still do a GR 150 or close to it (I did a GR 148 last season even with it only being able to use the Vengeance Sanctified Power).

Most players play it with the third offensive gem, but I’ve found that switching to a Defensive one makes it easier to play especially with the numlock trick.

You are all missing the point. Also I don’t recall it using Strafe (Nats did/could, but not N6M4). Nats was more like an Akkhan/IK type set which is now LOST/GONE. In fact they did that with Akkhan, and Inna too. Why get rid of all the flexible and creative sets? LoD/LoN can’t take the place of those sets for a class like DH. It’s extremely sad because I loved setting up turrets and having all pets and using rain of vengeance and having them fire elemental arrows. Now I either get a gimped version with M6 or a nonexistent version with Nats. If they wanted to make Spike Trap, they should have done it with LoD/LoN, or Shadow, not kill off a beloved flexible creative powerful set in favor of some pidgeonhole lameness.

And you loved it so much, it took you over 2 years to notice it was gone.

Not sure if “gimped” is the word you are looking for. Marauders is one of the 2 or 3 most powerful DH pushing builds.

I was having fun with G4N6 before they completely overhauled the Natalya’s. Then I have realized I can do pretty much the same with Gears Set only; no need for Natalya’s Set pieces to clutter a slot for potential Legendary powers. Since then, I don’t remember touching Natalya; not because it’s bad or anything, but play style is too demanding and a little bit more complex than it used to be.

I prefer simpler approach and face rolling content with a slight tediousness just like Gears of Dreadlands; the new overhauled Natalya, somewhat split on being over focused and over fixated. You can do anything you expected from old Natalya with GoD anyway. If the only problem was Rain of Vengeance stops being an iconic skill, then it will stay obsolete until you come incorporate it in the build.

You missed the point.

Even though I don’t play this class, Natalya is one of the most powerful builds in DH.
Just another way to play the build (Maybe harder to play, I don’t know.)

Indeed. If I’m not mistaken, current M6 is way more powerful than N6M4 used to be. On top of that the Sentries now also autofire.

So what benefit did the dead N6M4 have? Certainly not damage nor flexibility.

They only reason why N6M4 was invented in the first place was because people wanted Sentries do the damage and the previous M6 didn’t do that. Current M6 however does that.

It’s literally my thread

Oh okay I didn’t realize they made Marauder changed too. Is it like the season 1 marauder now with sentry auto fire?

Yeah I don’t live and breathe D3 and I’ve only just come back around to playing DH, so sorry not sorry, try better next time

More or less. The Sentries are the main source of damage so positioning them is critical. While they do autofire it’s too slow to just to rely on it. You have to fire the skill as well as the Sentries still fire when you do, independently from the rate of the autofire.

I still miss the old trag’s. Flying around sniping champs was super fun.

I enjoyed playing N6M4 back in the day. The M6 revamp made it obsolete.
Natalya was orphaned for a while until they rebuilt it.
It is powerful now, but I don’t like the playstyle and haven’t touched it in years.
P.S. @ Kirottu. I didn’t mean to reply specifically to you.

Say no all you want doesn’t make it true. Just go away if you aren’t gonna contribute properly to the topic. Sorry that I owned you in that other thread when I called you out on being wrong. Stop taking your own failures and frustrations out here.

I think you can still do that if you spec it for Bone Spirit.

Also needs near optimal stats to be bearable. At least that’s how I find it. I hated the rework for ages until the last season I played DH when I farmed up so many well rolled ancient/primal pieces for Spiked Traps… made the build with optimal stats and it’s OK.

Yes, Nats was a set that was a universal damage mutliplier because these sets… Nats, IK, Inna, Tals and Zunimassa were all the original class sets from the base game and thus shouldn’t be skill specific so as to promote a bit of variety for vanilla players. Zuni was the outlier as it only buffs pet damage but you at least had a few options

Imagine being a vanilla DH player and now only having to use Spiked Traps as the end game viable skill. Yuk!

The set was reworked by the team that took over from the team that made RoS and maintained the game up till patch 2.6.1 from memory. That patch remained current for about 4 seasons before the replacement dev team started adding seasonal themes and the 5th class sets… then they took it upon themselves to redo many prior class sets.

It was a hit and miss period of time. IMHO, item wise, they should have added new class sets only and simply buffed the old designs.

This gave me a good chuckle.

I would have loved if it was a ( trap - rain of vengeance ) build. Rain of vengeanc procs traps and both have reduced cd.
While in rain of vengeance take ( insert % less damage ) reduction and deal x amount of more damage

My personal opinion on what the devs should have done with the DH class sets when they bumped up the number to 4 sets for each class:

  1. UE: made this the active set for the class… add CA and EA to it
  2. M6: made this a proper traps set… the sentries needed to have the firing rate it originally had, and spiked traps incorporated into it
  3. S6: Support FoK, Chakram and Grenades too… making it a more complete non-archery set
  4. N6: the general damage set that excels at everything else like RoV, Rapid Fire, and Strafe… which it did despite being a bit clunky. I always thought of this as the channeling and nuking set.

YES! This would have been great. Also instead of making it solely trap damage based, should have kept it as a universal buff so Danetta and Rain of Vengeance could benefit (as well as traps).
