"Warning seal" Alter of Rites

Why is there one last unnecessary step of having to unlock “warning seal” which is our alters end goal. Despite every single requirement is fulfilled for the end goal nod to be unlocked, even the season journey showing the progress as complete.

How come “warning seal” isnt automaticaly unlocked as every requirement for the nod to unlock is fulfilled?

Iv been playing without unlocking “warning seal” for a looong time.. didnt strafe my mind to unlock something which has every sacrifice requirement fulfilled, along with season journey granting achivement done with sound effect when done.

Edit: I have echolalia, i see im repeating myself here.

That needs an individual periodic check from server, to reveal if that one player amongst millions have activated everything to unlock the flag for the last node of Altar. Since they won’t keep Altar progress information client sided in any way, I can’t think of a solution here. They can add such thing but complaining about it is trivial, because development of D3 stopped about years ago now.

So you want them to alter the Altar?

I’ve seen this happen to a few people. Curious why it doesn’t register with people when they get a single Primal drop instead of double.

You can play a looong time without a primal drop :slightly_smiling_face:

That’s me atm…. just after one more dud primal and I can unlock double primals.

I unlocked double primals haven’t seen one since. :person_shrugging:

That’s how i learned that Warning had to be clicked  (Probably the first Altar season…).
Even though Naksiloth could be right, I find it odd that the servers can keep track of like millions of things every second we play, but this small thing would be too much? I think it’s more likely that the devs wanted to give the players an extra dopamine reward by being able to finally click the final button on the Altar (they just forgot to put a warning(!) about that it needed to be done).

True. Especially for people who play very inefficiently.

I have had a couple of friends go weeks, though, with many single Primal drops before they realized they didn’t hit the button. I guess my OCD comes in handy on this because it hasn’t happened to me yet.

I don’t think this is the issue. If they set the flag when you click the bottom icon, they can just as easily set the flag when you click the last of the three shard rewards. They chose not to for some reason, but it’s pretty clearly a choice, and not a technical hurdle.

Which one will be last node to be unlocked only rely on player itself. There’s no such thing as dedicated last node, so I think this require a check at the background by the server. I can be completely wrong as well.
Perhaps they can set a check at every possible node to see if it’s the last one except first node, Gateway, and last one, Warning; then if conditions met it automatically unlock the latter without any input. While it’s doable that could bloat the code a little. This is kind of sophisticated but I believe expecting a decision from player would be better off.

That’s what I think too.

No, not really but a periodic check would be obsolete when majority has unlocked everything and nothing to do with such check by the end of the Season.

The 3 seals at the bottom that require Ashes can be unlocked before you complete the entire Altar. The “double Primals” is for completing the entire Altar and having this happen would circumvent it.

On a side note, I would actually prefer this as I would no longer need the stupid Staff of Herding or a CR chest to get my double Primals unlocked.

Edit: think I read it wrong, believe you are referring to the shard reward where you need a solo GR 110, which would work.

Wouldn’t it (or couldn’t it) check that 26 Seals plus 3 Potion Seals have been unlocked. It wouldn’t matter what order they were unlocked. Just that a total of 29 “Seals” were unlocked.

Maybe click on the Warning Seal to finalize. But, to also have to click an “Unlock” button after that is just a bit redundant. (In my opinion).
