Figures that I make a post about this and then the very next day Blizzard decide to put out a forum upgrade that doesn’t include migrating the old posts. So here’s a repost.
I can’t get any volumes of “The Crusaders” to drop for either of the Necromancers on my account. I re-birthed one of them for this season and have completed eight full cycles of bounties so far, and still not a single volume has dropped; by contrast, one of my usual seasonal groupmates is playing a Wizard and has long since had all nine volumes drop while we’ve been playing together. I’ve even gone through Campaign Mode in its entirety (a dry run with the build I’m planning to use for Sprinter, but without earnestly trying to get through the whole thing in under an hour), and still nothing. At this point, I have almost every other lore book in the game except the nine volumes of “The Crusaders”.
One of my other usual seasonal groupmates has confirmed that none of his Necromancers have had a single volume of “The Crusaders” drop, and my Necromancer subforum thread turned up at least one other player who has also not had any volumes drop. (Said player is using the Switch version; I’m using the PC version.)
It’s hard to believe I’ve just been that unlucky for the last two years; are they simply not enabled for Necromancer? If so, is this deliberate, or is it a bug?
And to add to the one response this topic picked up before the forum upgrade, the reason they are not dropping is not because I have them already; I’ve checked. They haven’t dropped at all for either of them. Just the Necromancers on my account; all six other classes have all nine volumes.
I’ve also ran through several Necromancers without once having one of “The Crusaders” tomes drop.
On considering everything, I believe it’s because the Necromancer is a purchased class (was not one of the originals.) When the Necromancer class was created and added in, the drop tables that included the tomes were not updated to allow them to drop for that class, or if separate tables are created for every class, the tomes were not included on the tables created for the Necromancer. Similar problems have cropped up in other games as well. It’s usually a simple fix, though not a critical one.
The question remains, however. Is this something that will ever be fixed? Being a completionist, all my characters (I have one for every class,) have collected all of the tomes possible to get (some take quite a lot of patience to get.) Except for “The Crusaders” tomes (1-9) for my Necromancer. The only ones missing are the tomes available in the “Old Tristram” special zone on a few of my characters. I also keep forgetting to go get them at the first of each year 
. Hopefully, I’ll remember in 2026

Any sort of update on this? A simple “We are working on the issue” or “Sorry, no plans to ever fix that” would be appreciated.

If you’ve already collected The Crusaders Journals with another Character, they will not drop again in the same Game Mode and Region? ← I was wrong about this part. Each Character should have their own Journal.
Before you post here again I would suggest you check you Journal list for “The Crusaders”, Parts 1 through 9. If your Seasonal Witch Doctor hasn’t found them, Create a Seasonal Necromancer and see if they drop. If you do have them, they will not drop again.
You can also check your non-Season Journal list. I’m guessing you already have them in non-Season with Characters that are 70 (748).
