Yesterday, when providing leveling to two other players, I noticed that the kill streak counter did not show up at all, there were no bonuses (like falling corpse, twisters etc). Teleported to Tristram and guess what - the Altar was gone. Simply exitting to menu and starting a new game fixed it. EU region, btw.
