"Studio's PC focus is over"

That’s not what it says. But read into it what you want.

lol How do you come to that conclusion? I prefer to play on PC, therefore I’m a PC elitist? I don’t care what other people prefer. It makes me sad that Blizzard will no longer focus on PC games, my preferred method of play. I’m an elitist now? LOL

Yeah. They are going to be somewhat more focused on PC again, if Microsoft takes over. That is a bit fun. Microsoft doesn’t have much reason to develop mobile specific games, unless they just cant wait to hand over some of their profits to Apple and Google.

They definitely do have an interest in their games being on console though, obviously, so Blizzard making games specifically for PC is very dead. Of course it already was dead (Starcraft and Warcraft RTS :headstone: :scream_cat:). Well, Microsoft made Age of Empires 4 recently, so that also isnt guaranteed. But afaik most of Blizzards RTS devs have left…

Being a PC elitist just means you are are always right, and have great taste in gaming platforms. Embrace it!
All other platforms are inferior.

Epic gives away several games a month and most of them are AAA grade titles were talking popular franchises such as Borderlands and Bioshock yet Blizzard takes their most popular franchise and puts it in the hands of NetEase

its no wonder why more people are moving away from any Blizzard product

Considering they make games on pc for consoles (which you would need extensions to better gameplay) it’s a shame that with modern times especially they would shy away from pc. Just because its more expensive maybe?

The whole concept of a personal computer – PC – is becoming obsolete. Who actually needs one? Most of the “business” uses have been moved on to tablets or phones. And gaming is – for most users – just easier on a console. Think of the endless tech support questions we get here about some random PC issue causing problems. Driver updates, incompatible software patches… The PC is great for a small niche market of users who want to push their luck and be bothered with config files and dozens of other hassles. But most consumers don’t need or want that. I’m glad I lived during the Golden Age of the PC, it was fun, but its time is coming to an end.

In only play PC games last couple of years… So I guess this sux for me.

If you’re focusing on a single platform, it’s to the detriment of the others. So yeah, if you’re sad that now Blizzard is a multiplatform developer, meaning that they develop games for PC and other platforms, you’re a PC elitist.

You do realise that even consoles need upgrading/dating yea?

You do realize that it’s done FOR you by the manufacturers and not by you fiddling with random patch requests? It’s all about the difference between a glorified hobby item and a consumer item.

You do realise that when the p5 came out it was really good, there is now a better pc that is out!

And how many people have it compared to PS5? A few dozen? Hundreds? Compared to tens of millions of PS5? Yeah… I hope Blizzard isn’t dumb enough to chase after those hundreds of players. The PC does serve a use… it gives manufacturers a way to test out new hardware on what amounts to guinea pigs willing to fork out hundreds of dollars for slightly faster hardware. But it will become more of a niche market over time.

I know I’m more knowledgeable than the average user being that I work in IT and all, but I really have to wonder about the claims how PCs need constant fixing and maintenance.

Cause mine really doesn’t. 99% of games I load up and it just works. Most of the time I don’t even need to tinker with graphical settings because the game will auto-detect my hardware now.

Also for the record: The PC market is worth only slightly less than the console market as a whole. That means Playstation, Xbox, AND Nintendo combined(Mobile just obliterates both PC and console, unfortunately).

Good job it’s cross platform because the best pc will always triumph the best console… fact.

I love playing on PC. I love the ability to mix and match hardware. But my kids hate it. They don’t want to hassle with it; they’d rather just turn on a switch and play their game. Yes, the “bleeding edge” will always be faster but is that necessarily “better” for the end user? Millions of consumers are voting with their wallets and leaving the PC as an ever shrinking percentage of the market.

Well… games are made on pc’s so… they will always be around as they are better and always will be unless an idiot wants to ruin console prices.

So why don’t they just… not do that?

I upgraded my PC last year and before that the last time I ‘hassled’ with the hardware was in 2013.

Are… your kids not aware this was an option? Did you not tell them?

Mines almost 3 years old and just as good as the best Xbox. I’m due an upgrade. I recently updated it too by logging in.

Outside of a rare failed component, 1 MB and 1 GPU, over the course of 30 years, I’ve easily had more issues with consoles going bad in the same timeframe.

For context, because it’s apparent the actual quote has not been posted or read, he said, “My hope is we evolve franchises to deliver great experiences to players on a more regular basis, but also expand our universes across devices. Just releasing games on PC doesn’t serve people playing games today.”

No where does it spell the doom and gloom of Blizzard abandoning the PC market as this thread and some in here would have you beleive.
