Using that rune in co-op doesn’t have any visible spirits being launched, the character just does his animation and nothing appears. It still does damage. Also, it appears that what character your ally is is irrelevant as I used both wizard and demon hunter with no effect.
A full console restart did nothing as well. It definitely has something to do with coop as the second I dropped out the spirits reappeared.
