Sorry, but I'm gonna join the refund club

disagree, he’s leaving for very poor personal reasons, that actually have nothing to do with the actual game at all…

Eh, I’d call one of the reasons bad. The rest are fine even if I don’t agree.

Everyone has there reasons but none of those seem game breaking to me.

Besides, from the feel of it I think they held back some features they’re working on for release or the next beta (speculation).

And what is with all the whining about the models? They look fine.

If you wanted a faithful recreation they’d be blurry, basic and stereotypical!

There was concept art that was released back in the day that depicted detailed art of the heroes we grew up playing with. I don’t know if Blizzard is concerned about getting backlash from female activist complaining about oversexualization of female game character or not. It’s both easy and hard to critique art. I for one love all art concepts, do I think this is the most accurate, no I do not. Hence, I think there is room for improvement.

Op, reasons seem on point, so ya, refund.
Personally, I am finding it fun, been quite a while
that I played D2 last.
My computer is older, but seems to run this Beta well.
Loading screens for me aren’t to different than original,
and I expect it to be improved.
This game needs to be optimized for sure, but it looks real good,
and the sound is excellent.
I missed the atmosphere of this game, cause D3 the combat is fluid,
bad lacks the sounds and overall feel of a Diablo game.
Loving the realist armour again, but like you, I wish the characters
would be tweaked.
I understand VV was going for a more rugged/reralistic look, but I prefer my fantasy
characters to have more beauty and less grit.
But I will miss mods a lot, so that is hard.
Overall I think this game will be real good, hopefully they work out the kinks,
and tweak a few things.

It’s exceptionally noticeable in the old graphics mode. It’s ugly as hell. And I’m currently playing D2 on a Trinitron CRT and a modern widescreen without glidewrappers installed. The game isn’t supposed to look like that. I don’t know what in the hell they have going on with it.

That looks awful… You really need to just leave and play a game that suits your tastes better.

With YT mods can get really popular. If it was supported properly, then the average user would be aware just like in games like Skyrim. I’m an ex-D2 modder.

I absolutely agree with it looking awful lol.

I’m using a performance Nvme wit its own cooling bar and as such, I glide through those loading screens, in fact, I can’t even remember seeing one for a cave.

What loadong screens?

try lowering you refresh rate? for some reason at 144, it just runs hot!! locked it in at 60 and seems to run fine… think they got some tinkering to do… and probably have new drivers for the graphics cards shortly after the game comes out… one can hope

Man, I hardly notice loading screens… if this is the alpha build and it’s going to get better then wow. I dont have a high end build either, but it is on an SSD. shrugs

well, he wont be able to post here once he refunded sooooooooooooooooooo

Meanwhile, the rest of us are plagued with constant crashes and bricking our 1k+ GPUs.

I actually can. They haven’t revoked my access to this section as of yet.
But if you think I’m actually lying and you want some kind of proof, while I’m not willing to show you tickets, here’s a screenshot from my battle net app. The game is no longer there:

Not as awful as the default interface with the 2 skill slots and all the wasted space on menu icons and stamina bar, especially in current year.

You might say my suggestion for interface looks awful, but that’s something I’ve made for several minutes on paint… and it’s not something original by any means. It’s clearly an MMO/D3 type of interface. Many games have it and it’s very practical.
I’ve have criticized D3 in many regards over the years. The game lacks proper itemization and progression, trading and whatnot… but the one thing no one argued against was the modern interface. What’s your problem with it?
I also didn’t say this should be the default interface.

D2 suits my tastes just fine in general, aside from the old control scheme. I like the characters, the progression, the farming, the trading… but when it comes to D2R I definitely hoped for better.
I was truly looking forward to playing it. However, I listed most of my issues with D2R in the original post.

Another issue that I’m having is, that all of my IRL friends, with whom I’ve played D2 are in no way interested in this release. Most of them didn’t bother to articulate in so many details, the overall response is along the lines of “this will be another WC3 Reforged, it’s apparent by just looking at the character models”.

You can only use 2 skills at a time, ergo, 2 skill slots showing makes the most sense and removes confusion and overcrowding of skills.
Other than the current skill bar being a tad small and some of the icons like run are small, its works for the game.

What do you mean “at a time”? That’s not a rule or a feature, that’s a complete nonsense. This is likely nothing more than technical limitations from more than 20 years ago.

At level 99 you have 110 skill points to distribute… that’s just your character (not gonna even bring up gear).
Having to swap and cast with just the mouse is pointless.

LoL. Are you sure D2 suits your taste? Because if more than 2 skills on the bar would confuse you… oofff…

Freaking Marvel Heroes, the D2 clone made by David Brevik had modern interface with a skill bar, with more slots than what we have in something like D3.

You’re trying to make me seem unreasonable for asking something like that, almost as if it doesn’t belong in a Diablo type of game, when the freaking creator of the game had it in his own game:

Skillbar is a problem only if you can’t organise 13 bind on your keyboard, doesn’t seem complicated . But a fast cast option (or people gonna make maccro for) is a good idea i think

K bye.

Please go back to diablo 3, or some other spoon-fed nonsense.

This is diablo 2. Get used to it, or don’t play it.

The only thing I agree with you on is them removing tcp/ip & open battle.net
