No way around it - if you put in-game hero editor RMT goes away and game becomes different.
As long as you have RMT playing SSF would not be optimal.

Go play path of exile. Blizzard and Diablo is about playing to your own difficulty.
This is one of the best thing they could do.
Diablo has never had ssf but they’ve always had hardcore. They’re not gonna try to be path of exile. Diablo had a lot mode class than a f2p dumpster fire like PoE. They can’t even figure out how to balance their game.
All Diablo games are for casuals. Designed that way by choice. You have the added layer of the excessive grinds for thise seeking more.
It is testing so it could easily be the option to skip the campaign like adventure mode in D3 that shows up after you beat it once. Could be to get reads in how quickly or slowly non campaign players level and gear up. Chances are you will.have to do the campaign once to unlock this.
I agree with you PoE should not be copied, but SSF as a mode is desired by many. Not including it in the game will simply push a lot of players away.
I am skipping D2R, because it supports RMT and botting isn’t killed in it. That is unacceptable in 2022 for a game that’s classified as a grinding game. It’s like an ice-cream delivered hot - the purpose is lost. D4 would be following the same route without a SSF mode.
Because you cant bot in SSF?
even with such a mode people could still do all of that in the general mode which more people would play and the community would be split and 3rd party sites would still profit of the game
Botting is far more common when RMT exists (compare LA to D3 for example).
As long as players support the RMT mode. If players unite against RMT that won’t happen.
I dont know if LA has more botting than D3, but if you say it does, I will, as stupid as it might be, believe you.
The solution remains simple though; dont have RMT like LA does.
As long as pigs would fly…
The better solution is to simply not have RMT, then it wont matter what the players support.
He hasn’t proven credible or right ever so i wouldn’t believe him. But there are no RMT in D3 and hasn’t been since 2014, and the botting issue seems far worse than it was when the RMAH was in service.
Yes RMT attracts bots but so does popularity and leaderboards.
Offline exists. You have your non RMT SSF mode already built in.
SSF is a concept that doesn’t require a separate mode. It only requires willpower not to give in to temptation, grouping up, useing 3rd party sites and what not.
So is HC, only a dedicated SSF mode would be good.
If you want to do difficulties, what D4 is (subjected to chnage) is doing is close to as good as it gets.
It encourage by default people to play on hard (at least experience arpg players), rewarding extra loot, experience etc.
But if you are super casual, that just gotten into arpg, there is an object if you hit a wall.
What need to balance is, playing easy mode should takes MUCH LONGER to reach level cap, & end game. Otherwise, the MERTA wil be to play easy mode to rush to end game & start gearing there.
RMT is already in D4. You have to follow the news.
The problem is, no can can agree where is this curve, or how it looks like. Diffcultes at least give people diff options to find best fit for them.
Don’t post false information!
But that’s their superpower.
I’m sure he’ll post evidence anytime soon. Obviously with any trading RMT can be a thing, but we don’t know if it will be an issue.
