Slot machine, Kadala, Kulle and Myriam

Since the Law in the land is the machine must pay out 82% of the time or its illegal. Does that mean Kadala, Myriam and Kulle are now part of the Blizzard Mafia? Are we playing an underground blackmarket game now, since the pay out is 1% if that.

The House always wins !

It is one of Blizz’s core philosophies:

rng = fun
more rng = more fun
infinite rng = infinite fun

I guess Blizzard was actually conceived in Las Vegas :wink:

I see the original RNG levels (WC3) as replay variety enablers. This game, you get +1 stats, next game, +3 armor.

I don’t like RNG myself, I’m hardly thrilled by Kadala giving me a legendary and so.
I could be, but loot shower kind of changes the perspective.

Seen the other side of the spectrum, though. Some things (in WoW) simply have a high price tag, be it 100000 monster kills on Timeless Isle or simply 10 million gold. Basically the equivalent of, every 100 paragons you earn a legendary (token). Once fully equipped, the next round, every 2-500 paragons, you get your ancients. But it could be like GW2, you can craft your stuff: 1000 bounty mats and 100000 regular mats for a leg, 5x that for an ancient, and so.

It just ends up being a huge grind where people don’t even loot or care, just rush to maximize pace and motivate-validate themselves by peeking at xp/hour or gold/hour meters. (Well, not in GW2 because you usually earn them in other ways. Nice community.)

Citation needed on those specific laws as they pertain to in-game transactions that have ZERO official equivalency to real-world currencies.
