How was your season end going?

  • Did no roll back
  • SC: Did not reach the same Paragon level => gained no NS exp / levels, still at the level when S33 ended prematurely
  • HC: Did more Paragons (679 before restart, ~890 after) => gaines no NS exp / levels, still at 679

Read that, but this was more about item carryover, also the title is not really meaningful — hence a new thread explicitly on XP / Paragon carryover.

Nevertheless, it’s a mixed discussion over there and the title is still not meaningful.
I want to explicitly exchange about the different rollover scenarios rollback VS no rollback, negative VS positive Paragon etc.

Its quite simple at this point from what we know:

If you were playing in the game during the season early end:

  • Your paragon and mats got rolled into non-season
  • Your gear was transferred via the in-game mail to non-season

If you adjusted your character after the early end:

  • Your paragon total would reflect the total with non-season paragon if you added points
  • Whatever you had equipped and in your inventory would be present when the restart of 33 happened.

If you played in the season restart of 33 and had also played during its ending:

  • You would have negative paragon respective to what you had prior. That being either what you had earned the season, or what you had totaled if you added your points from non-season.
  • You had all your gear that was equipped and whatever was in your character inventory.
  • You had to reteach the artisans and the altar. All mats and gold was at 0.

If you played in the season restart of 33 but had not logged in prior to, during, or after the restart:

  • Nothing appeared to have changed, you had all your stuff, etc. What I don’t know here is whether they will have an issue at the official end.
  • Update - Sounds as if they won’t be affected here.

If you had played in the restart of 33, but used a personal rollback to restore the game:

  • All of your account stuff was restored to how it was before the season 33 ended early. What I don’t know here is whether those that used a rollback will also have an issue at the official end.
  • Update: Those that used a roll back seem to be unaffected as well.

And currently, those that had played in the restart of 33 have a few issues with regards to not getting materials, gold, or paragon or items in the stash back in non-season.

But again, I don’t know if that affects only those that experienced the condition where they had negative paragon, loss of progress or everyone regardless of their status.

In-game chat folks that did not touch their chars during the whole blip phase say the now had a regular seasing ending, including mail, Paragon carryover etc.
They said the logged in after the restart where they continued as if nothing happened.

Perhaps those folks that did a roll back will be okay as well.

I did rollback on EU, and had no issues today.

Another somewhat interesting observation: Just did a NS GR and it dropped a leg gem I already have in my stash which should not happen.
As if the item was not recognized being in the regular NS stash right now.

For me, hopefully this is so. I was out of town for Blip 1.
For everyone else, sorry for the stuff you lost.

Forgot to mention: As my HC Paragons now at the end of season were higher than my NS I experience and the newly gained ones didn’t roll over, the same thing as during the blip happened: My NS Paragons are now negative. :slight_smile:

One more observation in terms of leg gems (I am missing about half of all there are): Every GR drops LoD now, which is always the first leg gem when you have none. Again, it feels like the blipped-now-NS char does not recognize the roll-over stash from blip.

Interesting.

Wonder what that will lead to. This just sounds like a disaster.

Maybe I’m now forever caught in an endless spiral of negative Paragons …

FWIW I’ll try to get it to 0 before 34 starts or least before it ends then. 99 % sure Blizz won’t do anything like credit the missing XP from S33 in the next days.

Lesson learned: Do a rollback next time.

I’m playing EU SSF; no paragon level transitioned as I didn’t reset my paragons before Season end so that was kind of expected on my part. I guess this is a counter-measure for people who abused this little exploit on the unexpected ending of the Season. Also my stash items are not mailed as well. I got my equipment intact and inventory full of items in non-Season, so I think it’s fine.
Maybe you could have avoided this if you were to reset your paragons back to original state, but who knows? Nobody could have guess the stash not getting mailed.
