Season of audio/visual vomit 2:1
Free paragon allocation/paragon cap 3:1
Previously rotated theme 5:1
Season of LoN or free RoRG 10:1
Season of LoN and free RoRG (only way they should do these two is together) 50:1
Season of Jay Wilson (1 or the other or both) 500:1
I don’t believe it. Very few people will play this weak & very limited theme… the number of seasonal players will drop dramatically. It much worse than Tempest and paragon cap seasons. How many builds are really ( +60% from Bane of the Trapped ) affected by free LoN/LoD? Monk WoL, WD Poison Darts… nothing more.
I don’t think any of the untapped season themes are good enough to re-use, and I hope they start rotating back through the ones we’ve seen. I really didn’t like the Trial of the Tempests and found it more disorienting than helpful. If they redo that one, I will probably skip a season for the first time since I started playing D3.
It seems that I am one of the few who is sticking with the paragon season cap for one of their favorites. My second favorite, actually (after the Soul Shards season, which no other season comes close to imho), mainly because the paragon points cap gives everyone a more level playing field to push the solo leaderboard (I mean no matter how much time one can poor in the game to farm gonz), which is what I enjoy most in D3. I can’t wait to see if I can beat my ranking of S29 with my Akkhan Crusader in SSF, now that I have a little more experience…
Having said that, I understand that many players dislike this seasonal theme because of the paragon points cap. Still, I find the alternative distribution of paragon points quite interesting.
A compromise could be to reserve the paragon points cap for SSF mode, for those who are primarily interested in their solo leaderboard ranking, and to remove this cap for multiplayer mode. That way, everyone would be happy, right?
I’m OK with paragon cap season. Several builds get a least two big advantages from those free paragon points, such as Wizard LoD or Monk Raiment. 800 + 150% extra AD + 75 extra arcane power are equal to ~3000 paragon for Wizard LoD Star Pact which means 150 solo without crazy fishing and ultra polished gear.
But honestly, it has very little chances of being repeated.
I don’t think the big problem was the paragon cap itself. The problem was how low the paragon cap was set. With the exception of super casuals, most players hit p800 opening weekend. If they set the cap at say 2400 or 3200 paragon, I don’t think most people would have that much of a problem with it.
Not really. Believe it or not, most SSF players are capable of getting over 800 paragon. No reason to punish the SSF players and not the multiplayers.
Personally I don’t think the Paragon cap provides any seasonal buff. I mean, that’s the reason most players play seasons. If you’re one of those players who enjoy comparing you gaming abilities in an equal setting, maybe this would be interesting to you. Me, I don’t have anything to prove, so I don’t care of playing 3 months to see if I can beat other players with my gaming proweless.
No, they are the only thing that shows any type of knowledge or skill in the game. One must be #1 on the leaderboard or else they suck. Many people here have told me this is how it is
