Sanctified Powers drop rate (from a casual player)

So say we all…
{steps up to microphone, w/ feedback}… “Hi… Also a “Joe Casual” player here…”
{audience} “Hi Joe…”
With a full time job (50-60 hrs/week), plus family (and that thing called sleep) - Time can be Precious - so yeah, when it comes to grinding for grinding sake… Meh. No thanks.

True, the game offers the same play for everyone, whether that’s a Casual, Intermediate or a No-Lifer - the difference boils down to the amount of ‘time currency’ you put into it. Sure, Live drops on Friday night - late enough that I’m only going to get a couple of hours play in before I have to hit the hay. (as in Have To or I will pass out). By the time I get back on Saturday, Leader boards are done and there are Finding Nemo Seagulls chirping “PL? PL? PL? PL?”

Don’t get me wrong, I actually somewhat enjoy leveling my Main 1-70 the “hard way”. Nothing more than a challenge of trying to gear up with things you actually… (wait for it)… FIND along the way. Gear that is CRAP… but keeps me alive until I can reach that magical 70. Then the real grind happens - Ohhhhh, what did I get? Yay! A Legendary! Non-Ancient! Blackthor… AGAIN… Sonofa

Each of the past couple of Seasons, I’ve too have had the opportunity to push my Character higher in paragon, trying new things, variants and the like. I typically get to 1200-1400 paragon in a season, and will keep the ‘really good stuff’ and my Toons, but hardly ever play afterwards. Last season I didn’t want to play the same character, so i tried something new… and …{gasp} Enjoyed it! I don’t have goals to ‘be the best’. It’s just not for me. I do NOT have the time to invest in that path, so I have to do with what I can. Ah, there is that T-word again.

The last two seasons I’ve also done the PTR and enjoy it. It’s like I can enjoy being a No-Lifer w/o the Time-Suck of the Grind… {Oh look Marge, it’s WAY nicer than the Brochure!} Me and Djank have become Bar-Buddies (the guys got a Wicked sense of Humor! Who knew he was from Bahston?) And while helping out the Devs, I can try out a lot of ‘what-ifs’ along the way. y’know, for the Primals that’ll drop for me along the way in Live. Have to note - s was posted elsewhere, The Necro Army of the Dead, while ‘broken’ was… Hilarious as it was FUN! It brought out my inner Ash Williams (Bruce Campbell), using the Evil Dead Army to fight Evil. All while playing the Monster Mash on Spotify.

Getting back to the Grind topic… As mentioned earlier, I agree with and hope they’re re-looking at the Drop rates. because if they’re kept really rare, where IS the Fun in that? I mean, they don’t need to be Djank common, but… I want to enjoy the Season as much as the PTR. ALL the different level of RNG: First, I need to be this level, then I need to actually find one, and use it on an appropriate piece, then no guarantee I get the one skill I need, ON TOP OF getting the right Stats I need. Not to mention IF I have to put a Socket into a ring or amulet. REALLY? THREE levels of RNG. MAX. C’mon…

{by the way segway}… Can we either auto add a socket w/ the AC or, here’s a concept, If Rami’s Gift can add a socket to a weapon, make it able to ADD a socket to Jewelry!!! C’mon. It’s season 27 already!

Couldn’t agree more! I mean, perhaps have to bring him particular Mats, etc.
"Yo Djank, Pimp My Ride!" -
I heard you like Skeletons… So I put some Skellies on top of your skellies, inside your skellies, while all the Skellies are running around your Skellies!”

Now that would be worth my Time.

I need a T-shirt that says “RNG Kills, Y’all!”

If hey dont change the drop rate, I wouldn’t mind if the santified item it’s like those blue items from other season, just make them hyper powerful

If the drop rate is low and you have to roll multiple times over to get the numbers that work, how about letting us use Sanctifieds on multiple items?

Too much fun and people (casuals) doing insane GR’s. We cannot have that of course. :stuck_out_tongue:

me, I think best would be to give at least one guaranteed at paragon 1 and maybe a few at seasons rewards and with Haedrig gifts as well as someone else proposed in another post. So people can use them also a bit in the build up phase and not only when already locked into builds. Even if for some that build up phase is already insane short, for those who do not go much beyond season journey it would offer some extra fun and a guarantee they can join a bit in that fun even if do not roll the best power.

Interesting, this is one of the most basic & fundamental aspects of the new season, and it hasn’t gotten any coverage. Will Blizzard listen if the streamers talk about it? Or will the streamers not care since they’re grinding all day anyway?

update 4 days of playing a few hours a day and not one… don’t even know what they look like… I will not be playing this season first time since season 9

I, too, would like to subscribe to this newsletter.

The current design means a player could need anywhere from 1 to 20 of them to get a useful roll on their main weapon. After that, they could conceivably go the rest of the season (if they’re casual) with that one roll. Repeat for each additional seasonal character a player needs, but still, it’s a whole bunch needed up front, and then possibly few or none later.

It’d be a lot better if they drop frequently and also just salvage into mid-level gems or lost souls or something, so there’s a crafting use for the piles of extras.

They don’t care about how you feel with regards to drop rates on their seasonal items. If they did, season 26 wouldn’t have been so God awful.

Season 26 is the worst season by a landslide due to the horrible drop rate for the season theme.

I do agree, a buff is warranted. Then again, a massive buff was warranted for last season’s theme.

Their mentality is “keep people playing for as long as possible”… which for a free to play game (after purchase of course) seems like the wrong strategy unless there’s some way to make money from these people.

The major problem is that they’re doing the wrong thing even by that mentality.
By keeping drop rates low, what inevitably happens is that people don’t play the seasons at all (or for a far shorter duration), but their expectation is that they’ll play it MORE to get more of the items to drop.

I’m fairly sure S26 has proven them wrong, but whether or not they’ll look at that data and believe it… well it’s not likely.
