This right here is pubs in a nutshell.
And that is why people will play at non-season instead of playing season till the end.
in S22, completed Guardian, and people still playing because it has 4th slot that non-season doesn’t have.
in S23, completed Guardian and people has no reason to continue playing season because the non-season has the same follower update too.
It has nothing to do with multiplayer or solo gets love. It is just that playing non-season is better.
And for the record, I accidentally hit the reply to you when I meant to hit the “reply to thread” button.
My mistake, but there’s no frickin’ reason to get pissy because someone says something you don’t like.
Point is, I was replying to the thread.
I’m excited about the follower change, because the majority of the time I’m playing solo. The rest of the time, I’m playing with my buddies, or I’ll jump into random pub bounty games to pick up some quick caches. Public rift or greater rift games often end up being a disaster… Someone is too powerful, too fast, underpowered or too slow compared to the rest of the group.
I feel hurt by the title
OP and really a bad person … selfish and wicked
You won’t. This has been a game that is shockingly unfriendly to solo play for so long that complaints like this will be disinteresting to most of us.
I only copied the tilltle from someone else as I thought it sounded funny, it wasn’t meant to be offensive as I myself in RL am introverted.
As I said, I only really play with one other friend who I’ve known since vanilla wow, guild broke apart back in like 2007. Seasons give us a 2-3 week window every 3 months or so together to kinda catch up and we have fun, whereas now I’m worried I’ll feel less inclined to play as much with him.
Either way, I really like the idea of the follower upgrade and often spend probably 80% of my D3 time solo, wasn’t trying to start a Solo vs Multi / Us vs Them fight.
Yes there are some ARPGs that just don’t do well as a group especially with any people thrown together.
I enjoyed playing with randoms in D2, but I loved the system of going into full games and still being able to do your own thing somewhere.
I found the D3 system to be just bad, sitting there by yourself in your menu and when you went into an online game just getting thrown together with a bunch of guys with no choice or chance and then having your maps blown away… So much worse it can not go…
I played D3 with a good old friend once a few weeks as a duo and it was with chatting and slowed down pace just far more of an adventure feeling, than a bomb festival…
Apart from that I play alone, but I would also like to play as a group. But then the games have to be made for that, i.e. slower and the monsters are not all just bombed away and more adventure co-op and no competition system and try to run the 7 miles faster than the little muck in his boots…
Lol I’m mainly a soloer and am looking forward to it. I dislike the meta entirely and hope this zdps is never a thing in D4. That crap does not belong in an ARPG, there should never be a “LF basically healer” to do content.
I am just saying I could see how group players will get nothing at all - at least this season soloers have 4th cube and a clone that’s actually designed to boost solo more. It’s actually not even that bad albeit obviously favoring groups more overall.
The complaints against the benefits the solo player gets reminded me of that time when Warlocks were like OP for like 3 expansions in a row, then they got nerfed to being like the 2nd best damage class and they went berserk.
I would keep playing with a friend;
But being able to add your own characters as full powered followers would make this game twice as epic as it already is.
I dont necessarily believe that. I enjoy seasonal mainly for the fact that it’s a new grind…And that I mainly enjoy finding item upgrades and trying to min/max my character. Pretty much, I grind seasonal just to better outfit my nonseasonal character(s) and pretty much never play nonseasonal again (For the most part, this is how its been for me since S12-13 when I first started anyhow).
But S23 will hugely depend on the flow of the community as well, and this could as well make the decisions for others as well. It’s definitely going to divide the game. Seasonal, at the beginning, will be mostly normal for the first 2 weeks or so…But I feel like a lot more people are either going to flat out quit, or just flop over to nonseasonal. Either way, seasonal (S23) is gonna be a bust, it’s gonna lose more players during the entirety of the season more than previous seasons.
Edit: Seasonal is also good for players that can’t compete with others in nonseasonal, that have been playing longer and have 10000+ paragon or what not. This gives players that play seasonal a chance to achieve something, just personal goals if you will. Also the new leaderboard filters could help seasonal as well, since a lot of players simply can’t compete with the higher paragon players in nonseasonal.
I played Hunter…Go figure. lawl
But I remember Warlocks being OP as hell…
It’s a preference;
I farm high Solo and later keep playing Solo at the highest easy level for my fun builds, feeling great as ‘king on my hill’.
What stops you from playing more than one character, one solo and another group.
I remember when they recycled season themes… people complained… how times have changed.
