The top players on the leaderboard are running a Bola setup with GoD set. I’m trying to understand why. The Bola setup is a lot less damage compared to HA. As I remember it, the projectiles from Strafe do not proc area damage. Bolas don’t pierce so there is limit penetration into the middle of very large pulls without putting the DH in the middle of the pull, in danger. So is this purely about building big density to be killed by the season theme? Is my understanding described above flawed?
Like you said, it’s all about building big density, bola bow pulls mobs together so the theme kills them, that’s it.
All high pushes this season are done by using the theme, it’s so broken it’s actually technically possible to clear a 150 using a ZDPS build solo, if you find a conduit at 0% to start the chain reaction, and also have enough mobs in the map, but that would take many thousands of keys to fish for
it’s the same thing this season too. literally no different.
In Season 36 I am relying on the Soul Shard Ring of Fire to kill multiple elites at once, I call it sending them to hell. Hehe I cleared a 134 in SSF with Hungering Arrow G.O.D. build. I got Saxtris for the Rift Guardian which has adds for area damage and it proc’d the Ring of Fire on the boss.
Basically just get three elite packs and get 100 monsters around it and slowly kill the monsters then the ROF will delete the elites over several seconds.
My only change to the standard build is I used Unity / Follower, and Stone of Jordan.
For higher pushing (besides additional time to kill the RG) Bola’s on GoD are a much better choice - you automatically group the mobs with the skill, so it’s much easier to make RoF and get to 80+ kills for the next RoF on it.
Focus and Restraint with Squirts and Elusive Ring in cube are a decent combination for damage and defense.
Hungering arrow very easily hits a “roof” so you almost depend on rift luck for further progress.
