so basically no new stuff at launch which is understandable b/c they want to iron out stability and bugs…but this comment also seems to hint that they will be adding more features AFTER launch. it’s pretty vague though. blah.
I hope you’re right about it coming later but after fail and fail and time again… I don’t have much faith left in this company…

Garbage argument in your lobby comment using no logic whatsoever. Not existing on console is irrelevant. The sales pitch was PC D2 brought to console with new graphics. Major parts of of the game are missing which impacts core functionality…. If you bother to read any of the 100 posts above. When a company says they are going to release product A and it’s characteristics on console and delivers product A minus 3-4 major items…. It is not the same product. Hence the feedback and order cancellations.
As for the “after release” that is very optimistic and perhaps naïveté to believe there willl be major structural changes after release. That is more a panic statement after seeing massive backlash and hoping an empty statement will placate some sheeple. Except the majority of us are veteran gamers who played thousands of hours of D2 and know what the game is and should be. Hoping to stem the tide of order cancels by vague unsupported statements is trash, just like blizzard has become.

^ this …. Exactly. I may have canceled pre order but if they fix it and make it right, with continuing to listen to the community they actually expect to spend their $ on this game, might just repurchase it later.

Don’t really agree that it is a positive comment from them. If they had plans to add it after launch they should just say so. Saying we can’t add features until later is so vague and means they might not grabbing sales now for a worse version than PC and never changing it. Sounds like a money grab and they won’t fix as they havent even said they’ll look at it. I hope I’m proved wrong though as I love the game but I’ll wait until lobbies added, would be silly to buy a full prices, worse than PC version on the hope they may add it in future.
If I’m buying a new car, would I buy a broken car for same price someone else is getting a fully featured car for ( PC players) missing major features like the engine if the salesperson said they can’t fix it until I’ve bought it, I need to buy it first give them the money and wait and see and hope if they might fix it but they might not, it’s a surpise, they wont tell me until I give them my money. LOL… who would do that, in fact in the real world that’s kind of a scam if you were silly enough to fall for it.
A broken car needs a much cheaper price, not the same price as a fully featured one.

I’m pretty disappointed that they have no intention of adding lobbies and/or keyboard support for in game text chat on consoles. It would make the game infinitely better for me.

Yeah, it is. But what isn’t promising is that people were (I don’t want to get forum banned again for calling them what they are) enough and blind enough to not see this ahead of time. It’s a bit pathetic.

Garbage thinking is jumping to conclusions and calling people “naive” and calling their argument garbage.
I wish people stop putting words into Blizzard’s mouth as well. Blizzard never said console versions will have lobbies, they even showed that it does not in the Open Beta. Blizzard also never gave strict definition to “remaster”.
If the final product for consoles never gets a lobby, then you definitely have a point. As of right now it clearly says they are focusing on more important aspects of finalizing it for shipment. Which hey, anyone with common sense will agree with, or they delay the product but real life does not always work like that… But you people are too smart to be told that.

In the case of Consoles, adding Lobby or K+M Support would not be anything game changing. It would be adding features that are rather expected and in line with the original game.
I am just glad they announced that it will release without those features initially. I prefer people making informed and educated purchase or refund decisions. They were up front and honest about it a month before release.
I mean, if you tell me my pants I pre-ordered won’t have pockets after all I just might refund them! Heh.

I’m just, I guess “tired” is the best word to use, with Blizzard’s stuff. As much as I love their games. And this is just dumb to me since I can connect a keyboard and mouse to my PS4. It makes no sense at all. They put controller support in for the PC lol.

Well, as his post said, you can demand all you want. They already heard you. They won’t have it in for Release though.
Does not mean it won’t happen later, but they were at least clear it won’t be by Sept 23rd.

These people are not newbies. They know what the Diablo 2 comes with, how it plays, the bugs, the ins and outs… they know. They’re not clueless. They made the changes they did on purpose. And nobody develops these things without a plan. They knew good and well what they intended on adding and removing, and all this stuff is just show. That’s the real reason there has hardly been any feedback to legitimate questions of bugs and such on the forums for weeks. They already knew.
I have a feeling what we saw for closed and open beta is what we will be getting. Oh well.

I don’t trust blizzard, if they didn’t make lobbies and chat, they will not in future. It is like PVP in diablo 3 :))))) THEY ARE LIERS! LIERS!
They deleted lobbies and named games for Consoles, and they introduced cross progression Consoles with PC. Are developers out of intelligence ? It is unbelievable …those stupid decisions. They should implement cross progression in Call of Duty or Overwatch. WTF we don’t have chat rooms and named games, but suffer from bots and dupes from PC. Not speaking of pvp and unbalance between console players and pc players…

The game should be much cheaper in price than PC version now then, because it’s now mainly single player and missing the best features of diablo 2, the multiplayer. If it was £10 I would buy it for a solo play through maybe. £35 it needs all the same features as PC to be fair to customers.
Like MVP Cheetah said you refund trousers with no pockets or you can buy them, but if I’m buying them I want a heavy discount compared to the ones that do have pockets.

Wait… They said 100s of times Diablo 2 R was built right on top of Diablo 2 sooo why were the FEATURES removed to start with anad given us a WORSE system. Also PEOPLE SAYING THEY GONNA CHANGE IT LATER NOOO THEY ARE NOT JUST GO LOOK AT THE RESPOND UNDER IT THERE ARE DEVS SAY THEY WILL ADD MORE TO FREE ROAM AND SOO ON YEAH IM DONE HERE… PATH OF EXILE IT IS THEN.

The one plus side to this terrible circumstances is that I heard about PoE which I didn’t know about and can always try PoE 2 when released if they don’t fix this, so at least can get my ‘diablo’ fix with trading and chat. Don’t want to but may have to.

How about they confirm that they are going to add chat, lobbies, and keyboard & mouse support to D2R because these are essential features? You literally are always the first in these forums to be like “oh it’s not so bad, nothing to see here”.
