Reforging Legendary’s to primals

Is there a trick? A certain amount of re rolls per item before salvaging and trying another? Been playing on and off the past 5 seasons and rerolled probably a good 1000 times and have had zero luck.

There’s no trick, just statistics.

1 in 10 legendaries are ancient.
1 in 400 legendaries are primal ancient (assuming you’ve unlocked access to them)

So, each time you reforge in the cube, you have a 1 in 400 chance of getting a primal, which clearly means you also have a 399 in 400 chance of not getting one.

Chance of not getting any primals in X attempts = (399/400)^X
Chance of not getting any primals in 100 attempts = (399/400)^100 = 0.779
Chance of not getting any primals in 400 attempts = (399/400)^400 = 0.367
Chance of not getting any primals in 1000 attempts = (399/400)^1000 = 0.082

So, approximately 8% of players doing 1000 reforges would not get a primal.

Thanks. How tf do I see people with 4 or 5 primals of gear they actually will use already in season 20?

People that play efficiently in 4-man groups will be running high level GRs in 2-3 minutes per run, i.e. they’ll be doing 25 runs per hour, with at least 10 legendaries per GR. They’re also earning bloodshards to spend at Kadala to gamble with. So, let’s say that in 25 runs they earn 300 legendaries. So, in four hours, that’s 1200 legendaries and at an average of 1 in 400 being primal, that’s 3 primals. If they’ve put in 20 hours of GRs since the season started, that’s 4800 legendaries, and 12 primals, some of which might be useful to their builds.

the usual “rng is rng”, ive gotten 3 good usable primals this season already and ive played very casually with only 743 paragon and 23 hours played. everything in this game is luck.

It’s only happened to me twice. With morticks and a flavor of time. And both times it gave me 2 wrong/ stats I didn’t want.
