Question for people boycotting diablo immortal

People just hate the fact that they have to pay in order to compete in a game that’s been designed around co-op play.

That’s what I’d call an oxymoron.

Nope. Never saw the point of anything that relies on luck rather than skill. Have never bought a scratch ticket even.

I really hope this is where regulations go. Gambling lootboxes is just one part of the predatory design, and regulation of predatory P2W and MTX should target much more than that.

Going to Vegas is actually fun.

Playing games on your phone while sitting on the toilet is not.

Well I’m Brazillian and gambling is illegal in my country so that is correct. Never gambled in my life. Closest I’ve been to doing that is gambling gold in D2 and blood shards in D3. My grandfather had serious gambling issues and lost his entire house on the cards back when my grandmother was pregnant and she had to do hard labor while pregnant in order to be able to get their house back, so let’s just say I am disgusted by the very concept.

I’m also boycotting D:I because it’s just a bad game, not just because of the monetization.

I don’t gamble, gamble at casinos or even buy the lottery.

Gambling for pixels? lololololololololol. i go elsewhere. Besides, kids will gamble with their money. Shame on you blizzard.

And you know that going in.

I often feel like I gamble on the stock market :sob:

At least it has better gameplay than D:I. Also heavily regulated.

yeha and if you think theyre cheating you at least theres a federal commitee that can investigate and has the authority to hold them accountable unlike mobile gaming which doesnt

If kids gamble on a 17+ rated game (like DI), that is the parents fault. Not the game company’s.

Only time I go to Vegas is when I pass through on the way to Moab.

You are kidding right? Whales never get held accountable, be it in a game or the stock market.

true but my point remains valid at least there is a oversight in the stock market

free drinks in vegas are predatory and thats their entire point. thats how they get you! the drinks might as well have a sticker on the side of them that says +800% extra value???

At oshay’s in Vegas on the strip you can play war with a 1 minimum. 20 bucks takes about 3 free beers to loose while 1 beer purchased is 12 bucks. I’d say that’s acceptable.

what if i told you that you could get 6 beers for 12$ and a MONTH of content for 4.99$ instead of 1 hour of war?

This isn’t even close to an equivalency. The question is troll bait.

Vegas does not require 5 and 6 figure investments to progress.

you also have a chance of winning actual money in Vegas. You have a chance to get a gem in this game. There is literally no ROI.

Next time ask yourself which movie you’d be willing to watch once for $5000 or $50000

DI is a read only medium like a movie. Not a chance to win money like Vegas.

I’m not boycotting but have to keep in mind some things… Things that succeed in a bad way or in bad faith continue to be such later, in other words the boycott “campaign” may be more of a “Save D4” movement rather than “save” D:I

I mean it what it is, people are at peace that D:I is a “gamble funding” experiment and fine who wants to have it let them have it, but the key and perhaps more impactful thing is to give the clear message that this kinds of things shouldn’t affect D4

There’s a lot of differences between Vegas and D:I as laid out here. I love the fact though, that when Vegas catches cheaters there is no mercy. If they do survive a casino security beatdown, they still have to contend with both law enforcement and gambling commission persecution.
