Possible help for mentally disabled players...?

I am autistic and I have brain damage. I have been playing D3 for years. I love this game.
In the last few years, I have had to pull back my playing because I could not advance my gear. Like almost at all. Every season it seems like the devs make one key resource hard to get, like forgotten souls or deaths breaths.
Without these resources, the game is unplayable. We cannot advance gear. Then you have these players who spend more than 80 hours a week at playing.
I literally cannot advance gear, and l cannot get primals to drop. at all. No matter what I do, it is like i have a cursed install or something.
This message is for the devs- please help those of us players who do not have the mental capacity to grind for hundreds of hours, without any guarantee that we will receive what we need to advance.
If it is not possible to advance, that makes the game not fun.
I have an idea that can go several different directions.
PLEASE raise the chance by one percent that when we enter an enmity, there will be a room filled with treasure goblins. Just one more percent could make this process easier and more fun.
Or, at the start of the game have a check box that activates a faster mode, where the game will not be quite so stingy with necessary resources. For that mode, make separate leader boards.
Something, anything, please do something about how hard it is to get resources.
or here is an idea- make one of the torment levels, like t10 or t20 , that that specific will drop resources at a higher rate.
Life is hard enough already. The game does not have to mirror life. Some of us get on games to escape our hard lives…….

You need to clear a greater rift level 70 solo within the time limit of 15 minutes to unlock the chance of getting a primal… sadly.
None of your characters looks to have gotten to that level judging by the legendary gem level. Of course primals are not needed to be powerful in the game and you have several ancient items… but any kind of disability can surely be a hindrance in advancing in the game. I fully understand that.

Yes I agree. In order to speed clear floors and survive, we need to be able to upgrade gear…… without resources, cannot upgrade gear, and cannot clear the necessary floors in the necessary time…….
it is a vicious loop, and only the wealthy and the unemployed can break that cycle it seems.

As long as you can farm T1 and higher safely, you should get good enough gear. Slower in the beginning, of course.
Rule of thumb, try to run Nephalem rifts and corresponding level of Greater rifts that you can finish sub 3 minutes. For instance, if you can clear TX, run GR 45+. The more gear and paragons you get, the easier it will be to progress to the next Torment/GR levels.
I didn’t check your gear, but try to level Legendary Gems to lvl 25 at least, to get the bonuses activated.
I would recommend an Inna Mystic Ally build, as it is one of the easiest to play and pick up stuff on the way, while the Ally Wave will keep you safe.

Thank you for your response. I am afraid your response misses an important point. I have done all that your recommended. Not so much last season, because I was already close to giving up on trying to enjoy my favorite game.
I have played this game for years, prior to my fall and subsequent brain injury. The problem with doing what you said is levelling gear up. I need resources on a constant basis so I can continually upgrade gear. If I run out of forgotten souls or veiled crystals or deaths breaths, I can do 30 more rifts, and still not have the ability to upgrade my existing gear due to a lack of resources.
I have even thought of uninstalling and reinstalling, hoping maybe I would get a better algorithm or something. These last 3 seasons have been rather unenjoyable due to this resource issue.
Before my fall I was able to sit for long periods of time, but now I have to get up and move around to keep my injured back from locking up.

Reforging is crazy expensive regarding souls (50 for each try) so that should be kept at a minimum. Trying to get perfect rolls at Myriam can also be too costly. So settle for less perfect stats. The emanating system for followers can help a good deal in getting materials.
Getting the full Altar unlocked seems not really doable for you. So maybe it would be better to focus more on non season heroes? Or at least use season to farm Visions of enmity for stuff that will be available also in non season - after season end.
Another ā€œeasyā€ build to play is the Aegis of Valor Fist of the Heavens build. Once you have the items it’s all about Steed Charging through the maps and everything is auto killed.
You could also look into getting a gaming keyboard where certain keys can be set to auto repeat at certain intervals (which can be turned on and off) thus reducing much of the strain on your fingers. And I’m not talking about cheating.

OP, please take this as it is intended, a compliment, but for someone who’s autistic and has brain damage, you write a more cohesively and clear than most people in this forum. Congrats.

I would play more for bulk farming like T16 fissures with goldwrap etc and hope for item drops rather than rerolls. its pretty easy with the hoarder gem and goldwrap etc. no dying. just farmin.

crafting rerolls are kind of rough with the forgotten souls cost. i only try and do that in emergencies or after long farm sessions

As mentioned by others Cube recipe 2 is only when you get to like almost full set with desired stats and are missing one/two items with the correct rolls/in ancient.
I understand that when playing lower difficulties and trying to use Recipe 2 in cube you will just overspend resources and usually not get what you want.
For doing TXVI Fissures, however, you don’t even need ancient items - and they are netting a ton of resources.
If you are to weak for TXVI Fissures, good steps are TX and then TXIII Fissures.
The start is always the slowest, however many people even give up once they are set-up in decent gear as you most likely will get upgrades very scarcely after that.

I’m a father, Autistic, on the verge of getting an adhd/add diagnosis aswell. I work, I keep the house tidy and make sure the misses needs to do least possible at home, other than cook a nice dinner that she enjoys and have a good time with our son.
I get primals, I get good gear and enjoy the game. Blizzard cannot change the game in any sense towards it being easier for people with whatever when it comes to the grind. The grind is for those who can manage it, and they need to be rewarded for so by standing out compared to those such as you and me who doesn’t have either time or mental capacity to do so. In short, you not feeling like you have the mental capacity is simply just you not enjoying yourself.
You need to get outside of your own head and just full send it if you wanna aquire the best loot possible, and grind your buttocks off like all the people you’re jealous of.

That’s not a surprise at all.

Unfortunately for the OP, Blizzard doesn’t care about anything but money.

I am very educated. Learning was my thing for over 25 years. I taught myself spanish, hebrew, read the bible 17 times, and taught myself all of the codes electricians had to follow in dallas tx back in early 2000’s. I also have 88 credit hours in college with 3.9 gpa. I am not bragging, I just want to point out a lot of autistic people are like this…..

As a disclaimer im no pro at this, i just like to go hard the first few days of the season and fight for those first leaderboard spots

my friend, apart from forgotten souls you should never run out of anything if you are playing seasonal. I’ve been playing SSF HC since they made it possible and im drowning in mats every season purely because i spent most of my time doing bounties.
if you have the double caches node unlocked on the altar you;ll never run out of veiled crystals , arcane and reusable parts
If you have Sage on your follower you’ll get more dbs than you need 2 days into a season.

If you do every vision you get you’ll never run out of bounty mats and GR keys

once you get to tier 10 legendaries will drop all over the place and you’ll get a slow but steady stream of souls.
Im under the impression that the middle part of the game is what’s causing you issue more than the rate of which resources drop and i might have a solution

See, I hate haedring’s gift. I haven’t used it in ages , im a fan of a more normal power curve in which i grow torment by torment

How i do that? well using Legacy of Dreams. On classes on which im proficient like necro, monk , barb and sader ONE single multiplier with legacy of dreams equiped and no other set items is more than enough to carry you to t 4=5=6.

if you craft sage asap and do visions you’ll get 25 dbs in no time even on t1 and from there its easy to craft weapons, almost guaranteed to get a multiplier.

You can use this to easily farm you gift or ignore it completely and start farmint set pieces normally.

There was no jealousy. Simply sadness. You sound like your life is really functional, and I am really happy for you. You sound like a ā€˜pick yourself up by your bootstraps’ kind of person.
I used to be the same. I used to be an aggressive alpha male who people went to when they wanted an answer or something done. Even as an autistic man, I was very good at masking and hiding my issues.
Now, I am different. Very different. I have not driven a vehicle since Sept of 2020. I had to walk with a cane for 5 years, and even now when I have a bad day, I have to use a cane to keep me from falling. I have not been able to work in 5 years, because it is apparent to EVERYONE in my life that I cannot perform as an independent employee. I do not have the ability to perform the way employers expect.
I stay home A LOT now. I cannot be as active is I would like, due to my medical issues.
I love this game, and looking for some understanding, maybe even a little empathy, I came here to ask the devs if they might see a benefit to my ideas. I am sad simply because I can no longer enjoy my favorite game.
I wish you the best. Take care.

I actually find T1 farming to be agonizingly slow if you want to get any gear and mats in the limited play time available to you. For me, the game starts working from T10 onwards (at least T6 or T8 if I’m in a pinch).

@OP : I suffer from chronic fatigue syndrome and can’t farm like I used to anymore. You might already have tried all of those, but some of the things that make it a bit easier for me to work my way towards T10+ farming are:

  • Completing challenge rift and opening the challenge rift cache at start of season to get a leg up

  • Crafting and equipping Sage set as early as possible at lvl 70 on follower, for Death Breath.

  • Doing season journey to a point where the Haedrig’s class set (hopefully) does good damage. S37 is great for that. I’ll play DH and after 2 chapters in the season journey I’ll have my 2pc Shadow set and can hop right into T6-T8 (depending one whether I got the impale dagger Karlei’s point from crafting with challenge rift mats, or/and the Holy Point quiver) with 6000% added damage even if I just wield a yellow melee weapon of unspecified specificity.

  • Then doing T6+ bounties and all visions along the way.. a couple of times over if need be. To get Ring of the Royal Grandeur and recipes for additional damage sets like Crimson or Guardian or Aughilds. And maybe, ever so maybe, I manage to faceplant myself into a goblin vision (would love the additional 1% chance).

  • If all else fails, I run Battlefield map (act 5?) over and over and collect lots of white items for salvage. Then grab some DB from visions’ champion levels , some yellows from the vendor and convert mats in the cube so I can upgrade yellows and hope for Shadow dagger etc.

Not gonna lie. The stretch where I just leveled to 70, can’t seem to get my hands on mats or legendaries whatsoever and can’t kill a T1 treasure goblin for the life of me… until I assemble enough damage modifiers or set pieces (2pc Shadow DH + melee weapon is actually always a favourite objective of mine) to get into T6 and up… feels like pulling teeth sometimes.

Ofc, if you happen across someone who can carry you through a couple of T16 visions and rifts, getting to a reasonably effective starter setup is miles easier.

I understand your point. I have several og players as friends, who always make it on the leader boards. one of whom is very blessed with the time to play for over 40 hours a week.
We used to play together a lot. He has been helping me try to find a way for me to still enjoy playing my favorite game.
He is a witness when I say, with all of the things you mentioned here, I do and did.
I used to do the LONG GRIND, every season, to get what we need to play and enjoy the game. Hurting my spine has changed that. I try to stand some while I play, but that only helps a little bit. I can’t sit for long periods. My friend has played with me these last 3 seasons, as I have scaled back my playing. He has seen plainly that ALL OF MY LEGENDARY drops are all copies. I mean, over 98% of my legendary items are either copies of what I already have, much weaker though, and others for other builds. Even with the special sets on me and or my follower, the number of forgotten souls, deaths breaths, and veiled crystals I get each time are astoundingly low. Like 3 db at a time, or 4 forgotten souls at a time, and so on. My friend can get up to 10 deaths breath at a time, while I’ll be lucky to get 5 at one time.
We have tried a combination of everything, trying to make the game functional for me again.
That is why I came here, hoping the devs might see, and maybe see some value in what I am pointing out.

mate if you do what ive said in my post and try to balance out your gear a bit (enchant useless stats , dont ignore defence if you die too often) it’s mathematichaly impossible not to get more progress, regardless of how long you play.

I am starting to realize that maybe I have not been doing enough bounties, and thusly enmities. I LOVE the enmities where one of the floors you enter is nothing but glowing treasure goblins. I have gotten 40 deaths breaths at one time one time, while doing an enmity.
The problem is, they only happen to my once or twice during a season. When playing with one of my friends, following him around, he can get those kinds of floors like once every 2 to 3 hours of play. I don’t understand why those floors don’t happen more often for me.

i suggest you neved ro normal rifts again. They are a waste of time for the most part, unless you have everyhitng else you need and only want GR keys.

Vision levels are RNG , you can get max levels on t1 while solo with 2 goblin packs, you can finish it on the first floor. If you do bounties like mad you;ll encoutner all sorts guaranteed

the RNGods can be fickle.
Last season, I was trying to first get and then improve 2 slots. I literally ran out of mats to 1) gamble 2) recipe 2 and 3) recipe 3 at the same time.
I’m lightyears away from a power gamer (to give an estimate, I made it to a bit over 1600 para last season), but it was frustrating/annoying.

that is also my experience, yes.

I thought doing bounties is suboptimal, unless still kooking for a specific legendary which can only gotten from bounties?!?
