Please stop with these requests. There is a literally zero percent chance of this request being honored, and it hums up the boards.
Yet you can totally go about your own business without worrying about them in D4.
It would work fine. Those wanting a shared world clicks Online at the menu screen. Others might click Offline, or Online with Private world toggled.
Even if there was zero chance, threads like these are still better than 99% of the threads that happen to be on the forum
It isnāt exactly dragging down anything.
Except when they show up during your world boss fights.
It still online.
Maybe D4 isnāt for them.
Is that why When shadout said
You came back with
Making out that botting isnāt cheating, you are the one that is differentiating between modded gear and botting and because you arenāt modding the gear it isnāt cheating
Strawman is claiming botting isnāt cheating because you arenāt modding gear
So as long as you donāt go any lower than being like the dregs of society itās all good and no need to better ourselves, nice to know that trying to better myself is a waste of time and not worth pursuing
And yes I can be a bottom feeder sometimes but I try hard not to be and try to better myself
Iām absolutely in favor of it because it helps me as a player and makes me more independent.
I donāt want to be constantly forced to play online in a solo game.
And I want to be able to play my Diablo game as solo as I used to, completely away from any control, anytime and anywhere I want.
I see the development towards permanent control and monitoring, and thus in some ways a deprivation of freedom, as very critical.
Away from the corporate power and the owning minorities behind it, it harms us all along the line, it is a creeping disenfranchisement and dependency process in a system that constantly just wants to rob usā¦
This will not end well if there is no containment of power and control is with the general public. By the way, this has always been the case.
A pure offline mode is a possibility to behave completely free and self-determined and puts the control and power in the hands of the player.
Any corporations sole reason to exist is to get your money. Lucky for you a game is entirely optional, so donāt like it, donāt pay.
Offline mode with separate characters than live would be ideal. Or give online characters the ability to do things offline that dont destabilize the ladders would be cool too.
I didnāt say that. Merely that threads like these are making the forum better than the average threads. At least here we discuss an important topic, both for Diablo and for gaming in general.
Offline mode these days is not an important topic, We live in the internet age now days everything is done online, given all the cheats on the consoles we know why they want offline mode
Being offline now days is the equivilent of pulling out the gramaphone to play my record cylinders, yes they are that old
Offline mode serves other purposes than cheating.
For example, you have a metered connection - not that super uncommon - so you canāt afford to pay-to-play as the cost per GB of data is too high.
Or you have a poor connection (not highspeed, say) but need/want multiple people to play with, maybe even from the same house.
Removal of offline mode also removes potential customers.
That can be said with almost anything:
No solo option = removes potential customers.
No full trade = removes potential customers.
Party side caped at 4 = removes potential customers.
Looks too much like D3 = removes potential customers.
Looks too much like D2 = removes potential customers.
The word paragon = removes potential customers.
Must team up for world boss and fields of hatred = removes potential customers.
No real end game content = removes potential customers.
Yes, which is why its a considered business decision of gain vs. loss. I donāt know how many people āneedā an offline mode but outright saying ānoā without weighing it is just plain stupid. Not ignorant.
Well considering the dozens of pro offline players were claiming D3 was dead in the water with no offline option pre 2012 only to see it go on to be the fastest selling PC game of all ti.e at the time and by far the greatest selling Diablo game, itās pretty apparent they do not need to consider it.
I was not in on any of the meetings nor do I have any inside scoop. I would assume that they did talk about it.
Blizzard is not going to respond to this anymore, since they allready at announcment said the game would not have an offline-mode. I donāt know why people still bring this up and discuss it at length, they are not going to change their view on this I think.
A lot of valid views both ways here though, but I belive this has been settled.
Some people believe that because Blizzard has already changed some features in D IV, that if they are vocal enough on the forums, Blizzard will make it playable offline. I do not see that happening this one is getting old.
Something about list style posts are just so pleasing to the eye.
I really think this list is worth people taking a second to look at. I know it is just flat out insane of me to suggest any sort of compassion for a corporate entity but the list above reflects the crazy amount of things a developer has to look at.
And then settle into the reality that under no circumstances will you be able to make everyone happy. Far from making everyone happy, youāre really just hoping that people can live with some of the things on the list and enjoy the game anyway.
I would never want to be a D IV developer and have to deal with the plethora of conflicting views.
I donāt know how our old CM Brandy was able to deal with some people on this forum for so long.
