Perusoe's Testing Grounds

No thank you. And I know you’re not kidding.

I have to keep it simple. I’m an old man and still having trouble with my native language. (I don’t need to learn a new one).

The irony here is that I had to learn this all from scratch. And I found out the very bloody hard way that this forum software doesn’t use just HTML4, but also HTML5, but does not allow for HTML5’s requisite CSS arguments, so it’s a total bastardization of the two. That’s why the anchors are in HTML4 format while the flyouts are HTML5.

Hehe. Now you know why I created this thread.

Unfortunately I couldn’t use this thread for that purpose initially, as I was trying to surprise MissCheetah, and thus had to do it all in the editor window, frequently copying and pasting between here and a couple HTML learning sites, and it still was hit and miss because this forum doesn’t display “proper” HTML correctly, and the learning sites don’t display this forum’s whacko amalgomation correctly either. Try learning in that environment!

I just used some of the tricks here to make my damage guide thread on the DH forums: Comprehensive Damage Guide; A Modern DH's Perspective

At some point, maybe I can add more fancy things but for now I’m done lol.

Nice work.

If I was 30/40 years younger, I might have the energy to create more comprehensive guides myself.

I’m glad you found some of the testing done here useful.

Testing how wide I can make this chart:

Diablo 3 Patch Notes

I didn’t know this forum had this many markdown options.

Taking notes here for when I have enough free time to start making theorycrafting posts.

We have a decent thread on these US D3 Forums that explains a bit about posting here. But, I’ve found the one on the Europe site to be more comprehensive (once you scroll past the Trust Level information):

I finally broke down and decided to try it your way.

You’re missing a column - there are two hellfire rings.

Isn’t it 10 souls for the amulet too?

I intentionally left out the cost of Diablo-only Hellfire Jewelry. I don’t even purchase the 2 mil Design.

Yes, it is. I’ve updated that post. Although, it didn’t really matter. (This is Perusoe’s Testing Grounds.   — I’m just trying to clean up some of my old charts and tables).

But still, thanks for the heads-up. I would hate to miss that on a copy/paste in a “real” thread.

Not easy learning which syntax works and how to properly line things up by hand, is it?

Yeah. I spent a good portion of a day trying to figure out how to underline within a table…   to no avail.

I’m surprised that the toolbar in this Reply Editor doesn’t include underlining.

I tried using <u> </u>, but it doesn’t work here. I later tried the old BBCode version using square brackets instead of the angle brackets [u] [/u], which actually works.

Using this syntax: <u>This is underlined</u>. Produces this: This is underlined.

But, using this syntax: [u]This is underlined[/u]. Produces this: This is underlined.

The problem is, I can’t get it to work within a table.

You can’t underline within a table without CSS scripting. It’s part of HTML5, but is blocked on this version of Discourse (for obvious security reasons).
