First, this is my “Testing Grounds”. Although, everyone is welcome to use this thread to test stuff before posting in a thread, it is still just a place for… well… testing.
If you’re talking about the double line I used under the title (of the guide), that’s because it shows up better. The <hr> code is a single line and very faint. Even though it has it’s uses, I preferred not to use it in this case.
If you’re referring to separating each section of the guide, there are only 2 sections and I didn’t feel it was necessary.
Again, I do not know what you mean. I listed the steps to take for leveling a newly created Seasonal Character from 1 to 70. Then, I selected the steps and clicked the Numbered List button on the Reply Editor toolbar.
For the second section, I selected the list of Classes and clicked the Bulleted List button on the Reply Editor toolbar.
If that’s what you mean by “cheating”, then yes, I did. That’s why they’re indented and the decimal points are aligned.
My main purpose for posting this was to copy/paste it in a document I could print out for my personal use, complete with this forum’s new formatting.
I am considering posting it in the New Player Help Forum with additional information.

Well, that was just coincidental.
Actually, for the last couple of days, I’ve been looking for a free audio-hosting website (like Imgur for images) that supports .OGG format, to embed short audio files in these D3 Forums.
I finally found a site that allows just that and never deletes files with little activity. You can see my first test here.
Someone, in the Gaming Community I’m a member of, suggested SoundCloud, because people playing Path of Exile used it. So, I just wanted to test and see how a sample would embed in our in our D3 Forums.
It works, but not like I was expecting. I like SaberCat File Hosting’s way better. And it uses our D3 Forums’ default player when embedded.
Hmm… A little more intrusive than I would like and it doesn’t use our D3 Forums audio player, but it may work. I think I’ll create an Account with them. They support .OGG files, but I believe when they’re uploaded they’re converted to .MP3. (We’ll see…)
The reason Sabercat won’t work is the same reason other file hosting sites like that won’t work - they have a timed block on non-member accounts. As the forum is a non-member account, it gets blocked and can’t parse the exact file location. Hosts like that are only good for downloads, not actual embedded hosting.
SaberCat File Hosting does not have this limit on free Accounts. I checked before creating an Account.
Besides, that doesn’t make sense. The ones that are still working were uploaded a week ago. The one that isn’t working was upload just an hour ago. And it wasn’t working as soon as I posted here.
Now, I’ve created a free Account on SoundCloud. Not exactly what I was looking for. But, let’s see if it works.
See those lines for Waiting, D/L speed, and Advertising? That’s why it won’t work. The server can’t process more than one request at a time for non-member accounts. As such, because this is a multiple request scenario in nearly all cases, it fails. Also, 50K/sec is…that’s not even halfway decent DSL speed, let alone broadband speed.
SoundCloud is designed to work with embedding. SaberCat is not.
I did not know that. I thought I read where SaberCat did support embedding. I must have just interpreted that when they listed a Direct Link URL and a Forum Code URL. I guess any of those codes are meant for downloading the file(s) and not for embedding.
I still find it odd that I was able to embed 2 different audio files I uploaded to SaberCat, but no more. Maybe 2 is the limit.
Hard to pick out a favourite but ‘Financing lion or clinical yeast rice’ does particularly tickle me.
