They restart or do any weekly maintenance on Tuesdays, typically. I know that was the case with WoW. They probably got wind of something game breaking and picked their default time for this sort of stuff to knock it out. I’m sure this game’s devs are in short supply these days.

its not the default time at all. Default time would be 7am pst.
Super excited for all the incredible server improvements (kidding obviously) or whatever they’re uh… doing to this ancient game for 4hrs.
Yeah from now on , every time there is a new D4 Event or content patch , there will be d3 maintenances and delays due to “players feedback”

Because they released a new event in D4 on the same day so they want 4 hours of downtime in the middle of the day so more people are likely to play D4 which is currently up, while D3 is down. Increasing their sales from the event. At least that is my tinfoil hat theory. If this was just maintenance for the sake of maintenance it would be at 7am like it always is.

Very important. Way more people are playing D3 than D4 and they don’t like that, so they shut us down.

It works 100% of the time, most of the time.
it’s down for hours because they figure if they shut it down during prime hours we’ll switch to D3 negetive2.0 version(D4).
Yeah, but I heard that intern is really good at formatting floppys, Windows NT, not so much.

It is the monthly maintenance where the janitor must go in the server room and mop the floors and dust the servers. Rest assured he has already been warned not to accidentally hit the “end season” button again.
Well, launcher says it was “scheduled”. I think it is the usual case where something was legitimately scheduled, they simply forget to tell us which is starting to become the norm.

I had high hopes for D4, and took the “get your name on the Lilith statue” challenge seriously so I requested 21 days off from work and I was successful :-p but after a season or two I basically haven’t had much interest in it. The initial play-through was decently good and worth the money in my opinion but the replay-ability of the game is horrendous.
Now I sometimes log into D4 at a season start and kill an hour or two but generally get bored and don’t bother getting to endgame much less staying there and “enjoying” it.
It’s simply put a worse game overall than D3, and certainly worse than PoE2. I am still actively playing D3’s new season for a week or more every season. That’s replay-ability you can’t find in D4.
Edit: They should have taken what they learned from years of D3 gameplay/changes. And started THERE in D4, rather than start fresh and to this day still be lacking simple/obvious things like being able to tell who is hardcore/softcore in your friends list, and the clan UI, and having things that are actually good at connecting people such as communities from D3… among other things. Then further dumbing down the content of D4 to further appeal to the casual dad-gamers that only have a few hours a week to play. For a casual andy, it’s prolly a pretty good game. For anyone that actually has time to put into the game and wants something more complex with a high replay-ability factor, you should just go try poe2.

No, the last scheduled downtime for D3 servers were on thursday night, just one day before season start. I makes no sense to have such a long downtime right after season start and this is absolutely unusual. Maybe they roll out a well deserved banwave for all that botters in the top rankings? But i think they dont care about D3 anymore. So sad.
