Is there really no communication between players on the switch? Am I missing something? PC I can type to my group members before I attack a goblin or when a portal opens or whatever happens that the other members of the party will benefit from. I was in a game with a barb when a portal to whimsydale opened and I had no way of letting the barb know… Even if the combat text showed that I engaged a certain mob (Stency has engaged Fat Fluffy Unicorn) the barb would be like, “Oh snap” and tp to me. But that combat chat does not even show up… Please tell me I am simply missing a setting or do not know a button that opens text chat.
Consoles never had text chat between other players. Aside from Switch, other consoles had group party chats with mics built into the system.
Switch version was supposed to support mics, but nintendo reneged on that.

You have to use the Nintendo online app for voice chat or a third party like discord if with friends etc.
Does D3 cross platform?
