Necro: Phylactery / Scythe Idea

As one of the big issues with the necromancer is the lack of corpses, lack of synergy between abilities that use/consume corpses, and need for LOD in essentially every build, I have an idea for an item that could resolve that.

Phylactery of Withering Corpses (name tbd)

  • Devour now gains the effect of Devouring Aura (no need to numlock this anymore)
  • Corpses consumed by Devour no longer return essence, but instead provide a Corpses buff, stacking up to 999 (tbd)
  • Abilities that requires corpses will consume stacks of the Corpses buff

This thing could look a bit like the horadric cube or something.

What this really does is allow you to run around without the need for using LoD and without a need for a spender to get through doors etc…

As long as you have at least 1 corpse buff you can open doors with corpse lance/explosion, and your corpse explosion will activate at your cursor / character without any corpses around.

Revive could also become useful here, as it could revive up to x corpses from your buff, essentially allowing you to keep your maximum revive minions at all times without leaving corpses on the ground out of your reach.
