Multi Boxing is now illegal

The question here is does the software that lets you spam the 1 key press to multiple instances of the game run in the addon part of the game or does it run outside, if it’s Isboxer then it’s outside. (Third party software)
That is part of the problem here, Blizzard as no control over it.
Where if it is run as a addon they have some control over it.

Correct. It is third party executable software that runs outside the game.

WoW Addons are just LUA files that are put in the Interface folder. They are then used by the game to arrange the UI and information for player display. Those are not executables and don’t “run” at all, much less outside the game.

Addons they don’t like, they just break. They have total control over those.

Let’s be clear though, they are only interested in stopping botters with this new update. Multiboxing is still approved and “just fine”. That includes syncing keystrokes to multiple characters.

If masks keep your face warm and you love wearing them, but bank robbers all wear masks when robbing the bank, banning wearing masks while inside the bank is reasonable. The problem is that it never stopped bank robbers from wearing masks in the bank.

It’s not multiboxing they want to stop it’s third party software they want to stop but the problem is that some people use the third party software to make multiboxing work easier!

Yeah. Nothing wrong with multiboxing in itself.
Having software automate it for you is wrong though.

So what do you get when you multiply 6 by 9…The universe just does not add up

Automated control inputs. - It looks like cheating. You get 4x the primals I get.

But I wouldn’t call it a bannable offense. It is just a game.

What are we talking about?

  1. I play 3 characters not 4.
  2. It’s slower. In D3, multibox looting is worse than picking up dirty pennies off the ground. I don’t do it in real life. I don’t do it in D3. When I run grifts, my guys stay in town. They only pick up loot from bosses. They don’t get to see the primals that dropped along the way, they don’t get many primals – only from greater rifts clears. I don’t run speeds because it’s inefficient and wastes keys – I go for slow (10-15 min) pushes.

Maybe others do it differently, but the effort to run stuff quickly isn’t worth it for gear alone.

Politics.

This isn’t about what you do or don’t do. Like I said, I don’t really care, it’s just a game.

I would just like my jade doctor build fixed so I can speed clear. :frowning:

We don’t have an auction house, all we have is drops. So it looks like cheating to me.

If we still had auction house, it wouldn’t be the same concept. than it’s just capitalizing on your solid knowledge of computers…

You don’t need to preface your opinion like this, or claim it’s politics – did you think I’d be insulted? Go ahead and stomp on those eggshells and dirty pennies.

Nobody is multiboxing for loot. We all know if you want a specific primal item, you hammer out bounties and reroll until you get it. That is the meta for getting good gear.

Nobody is multiboxing for paragon either, it’s slower than a speed meta group.

You can multibox for gems, but a competent group will do this job better.

And to be clear, I’m talking about HUMAN controlled D3 multiboxing with 1:1 key broadcasting. No automation, bots or scripts. (exactly what that video shows)

There’s nothing left to gain from multiboxing in D3, apart from personal enjoyment.

That is still completely possible. If you control everything yourself, with no software help, you can play as many accounts as you want.

I thought 1:1 keyboard and mouse broadcasting was cooked. Let me elaborate:

1 keyboard input resultIng in the same exact keyboard action broadcasted on all open windows. (I press ‘t’ on one window, all chars go to town. This is dead)

You can click every button individually for each client. Nothing prevents people from doing that.

Yeah, that is not allowed anymore.

Yeah that is inefficient and headache inducing in D3.

They are okay with us buying $500 multicast hardware and burning more electricity to do the same thing with extra computers.

This isn’t well thought out. Someone is going to pioneer and share a workflow with virtual machines, or the ISBoxer team will upgrade their software to work in that manner and this will become old news.

IsBox can do that now, you just need to learn how to get it to talk to multi camputers!
I did it once and it’s a pain in the back-side but is doable.

Dont see the point of MB on this game. As for hardware MB if you got more then one computer hop on Amazon and buy a KVM Synchronizer. Its a KVM switch with a sync option so you can control all your computers at once or inidividually.
