Apparently these super-rich lubs are supposed to tell us when they believe in something, promptly and immediately.
I for one never doubted Blizzard’s long-term prospects!

Don’t really care. I care about the people, not the tiny numbers of wealthy bastards. 0.01% of the population control 99.99999% of the wealth. We can do without that scum.
The human species has long been chaotic. It is, to quote a line from T2, “in our nature”.
5.2 million dollars in stock sold by insiders of ActiBlizz

Also Bobby K. has a hidden company that gives millions of dollars to GOP superpac.
This must be how this evil man doesn’t get removed for his crimes.

You don’t know anything about the French Revolution.
Where is your mind in all of this news about Acti-Blizz?
“Over the last year” is a humongous caveat to that headline. As in, pre-acquisition announcement.
I sure as heck also sold ATVI within the last year, and it is unsurprising that insiders did too. Since it was at a all time high at a time where everything pointed toward a downturn (“end of covid”), even before things exploded with the harassment scandal.
Now if Bobby etc. sold after the acquisition news, it would be pretty interesting.
The whole article reads like something written by a robot tbh. Just numbers and names drawn from some data source, without any context. They dont even mention the acquisition. Sadly this is very common from “investment websites”.
I know enough.
I’m against Microsoft buying Blizzard. I firmly believe it is anti-competitive and monopolistic behaviour.
I have to agree with you, I prefer more game stuido stay independence.
Once monopoly (when you have such a lion market share), the devil tails will be out.
So a big nothingburger with cheese.
Blizzard was never independent.
So a company that sat third in market share, that remains third in market share after an acquisition is monopolistic?
I don’t disagree that consolidation is a bad thing, but this only makes MS competitive against Sony and Tencent.
10cent is a problem, but doesn’t make MS less so. A monoply of 3 is better than Monopoly of 1 for sure, but issue remain, too much power from too few.
A monopoly of 3 by definition is not a monopoly.
An oligopoly would be more appropriate, but the reality is making games will never be a company exclusive affair. Rights to specific franchises might be murkier water, but if the people involved in the creation of such things are unhappy, they do have options either via kickstarter or seeking other independent investment. The end result may not be as flashy, but this also behooves the consumer to actually reward good games with their money so more can be made later.
I may hate the whole PC Master Race subset of gamers, but I’m of the mind both consumers and the industry would be better off if we weren’t divided between multiple systems. This tanks the problem of exclusivity and how what you want didn’t wind up on the system(s) you do have. Devs aren’t forced to waste resources making multiple versions of the same game that may not function the same way and can instead just make the game better all around. I can’t really say the notion that the competition we have had has been beneficial, either, as we still seem to be in a steady freefall to MTX/DLC/Service Hell when so many gamers Do Not Want™. Demands from gamers themselves will otherwise drive innovation because people will continue to want better graphics, sequels to things, etc…
The catch is you have to take a Net Neutrality approach and not block the production and distribution of any game assuming it doesn’t break any laws with its content or methods of creation. Ratings boards can otherwise continue to exist as a rough heads up for what’s in a title.
Technicality aside, but you get my points. Too much influence/power concentrated by a few.
Life imitates life I guess.
When I was in school, there were a few studies that looked at the hypothesis of dividing the wealth of the world equally among every person. In short, the conclusion was that in 10 years the same one percent of the people would owe 99% on the wealth. Take that as you may, but I believe this to be true.

More frosting on the ‘bad boss’ cake.
To all the nay sayers, just realize when things have have been taken from you that you cherished, it is then too late to change it back.
Evil must be stamped out where ever we find it.
more likely Buffet got a tip from his good friend Bill Gates.
Well, if anyone’s ever done work for wealthy people you know they stick together.
They’re so lonely and live in great fear of reprisal for their evil deeds.
No doubt Bill Gates, Warren Buffet and Bobby K. know each other well and probably have direct lines into each others ‘safe bunker’.
Does it matter? It’s still insider trading.
