Major issues EVERY time I log in

Hey all,

The last 6 to 7 weeks I have been having issues when logging in. Not occasionally, every single time. Multiple issues. Error 3006 to start with, then I have to sign in, Authenticate. Sometimes that works, other times it takes 2, 3 or 4 log in attempts to get to be able to Start a game. Current message I have right now is simply. There was an Error, (Code 1016).
Once I get beyond this and can get in to see the Start button. Hit start, error 3006, 1016. Your request timed out. You are unable to join the party.
Then I can get into game finally. Leader boards will not load. It will take me 5 or 6 attempts roughly to see them. I leave game, switch character. can’t see other characters.
Once I can get into one game, public or private, I am pretty free to go between games and no issue. Only when logging in can I not get into game for about 5 or so minutes of trying. However the leader board issue is constant.
There is no speed or connectivity issue with my provider. Nothing has changed at all on my end since this issue began. It’s almost as though my account has a virus.
Yes I have switched off the modem, done every troubleshooting test, gone through all forum solutions possible.
Please help!

I believe i am having connection problems too. I have sent DxDiag reports to Blizzard and not really had any help. This is the part which concerns me as i have no idea what it means and nor do Blizzard apparently.

Please help me too as my previous tech support was to no avail. Also when i accept notifications on the forum from Blizzard the same problem occurs.

But in another thread you said this…

If your PC is shutting itself down, that’s not a network or application level issue, that sounds very much like faulty hardware in your PC.

I have been through all of this. If it’s a hardware problem it’s Blizzard that’s causing it. I have no other problems on my computer except when i play Diablo. If i accept interaction from Blizzard on the forums it happens also.

And yet you still haven’t provided the information anyone here (tech support specialists or Blizzard’s forum agents) needs in order to begin a diagnosis of your current situation.

You need to start your own thread so Blizzard knows it’s an issue unique to you and so you aren’t hijacking someone else’s tech support thread. You’ll need to gather your system files and then post the results here. At a minimum we need your full dxdiag report, not just a snippet from it. Cherrypicking from parts of your dxdiag is useless for the purposes of troubleshooting.

Meteorblade is correct here. There are almost zero cases where software alone can cause a shutdown like that, especially when you’re seeing it from multiple different sources (a game, and on a website that isn’t taxing your hardware at all). Just because the website and game are run by the same company does not mean they’re the same catalyst. They’re two different things that are coincidentally triggering something with your hardware. Usually that’s overheating, faulty or dying hardware, improperly installed or seated hardware, a major software conflict with your hardware, or any combination of the aforementioned. That’s what your full dxdiag helps us to figure out.

So until you provide that info, we can’t do anything about it. Just make sure that when you do post your dxdiag report, that you select all of its text and click the </> button to convert it to preformatted text just in case any links appear inside the report.

I said i sent a DxDiag to Blizzard. For some reason they also asked for MSinfo which i also sent or i couldn’t send the report.
If you really think i am going to post a complete DxDiag report on a forum you can think again. If you think i am posting my MsInfo on a forum you can definitely think again.

There isn’t anything overly personal in your dxdiag. The msinfo is for when Blizzard requests it to be sent to them via their support system. Lots of people have posted their dxdiag and have had no issues resulting from it. Again, without that info, our hands are tied.

I have done a complete re-install of the game and before re-installing it made sure all Diablo files were gone, updated drivers and system so i guess it’s on Blizzards side. What else could it possibly be?

It’s a bit hard to say without the relevant information regarding your system. It’s up to you to decide whether or not to give us that information. But short of you doing so, there isn’t a single thing I or anyone else can do here that will be of any use since we’d effectively be shooting in the dark at a moving target.

well… really i’m quite happy to wait for D4, honestly. Also if Blizzard couldn’t help me i’m pretty sure no one can.

And that’s your prerogative if you wish. But if that’s the path you’re going to take, then please stop hijacking others’ threads. All you’re doing in that case is making it harder for Blizzard and the tech support posters here to help those that are willing to provide info on their issues.

FWIW, you’re not dealing with some run of the mill poster here. I just spent the better part of yesterday setting up, configuring, and troubleshooting a new network in my dentist’s practice, getting all of his computers up to HIPAA compliance, and setting up his new HP DL360p SFF server with dual RAID (10 for data, 6 for OS), his NAS box for backups, and resolved an issue where one of his workstation’s Carestream Dental setup couldn’t even launch due to Windows 10 having been allowed to update on that computer, forcing it to version 2004 instead of the 1903 I had locked the other workstations down to in order to prevent just that from occurring.

I’m well versed in both Mac and Windows troubleshooting, being that I have my own custom built hackintosh. So when I’m asking players for information regarding their issue(s), it isn’t for my health, as it were.

I would like Blizzard to assist me with the problem. I don’t like the fact that you are pretty much telling me to stop talking. You will not silence me. I am not in the wrong and i have every right to post what i like here. I am doing nothing wrong. Carry on assisting your dentist i won’t stop you.

I’m not telling you to stop talking, I’m asking you to stop hijacking others’ threads and put your issue into your own thread, along with the full info requested (dxdiag). Blizzard isn’t going to be able to do anything without the full info and neither can we.

And if you continue posting in multiple threads, especially others’ threads whose issues are not related to yours, you may not have to worry about posting for very long. That said, you and I both want the same thing - a resolution to your issue. But you have to do your part in this too, otherwise there isn’t anything that can be done.

I have done my part and Blizzard did nothing. Hence why i am saying it here and wherever else i like. If i’m doing nothing wrong then there isn’t a problem is there.

Major issues EVERY time i log in… is basically my issue lol. YOUR issue however seems to be me.

Failing or overheating hardware. The PSU or GPU would be good candidates but it’s tough to provide help if you’re unwilling to investigate the issue. Just for an initial suggestion though, have you tried cleaning out the inside of your PC with a can of compressed air? This could be something as simple as your PSU or GPU being caked in dust and overheating. Temporarily, take the side of the PC off and have a room fan blowing into the case for extra cooling, and so on.

No, the issue is that you appear unwilling to help with your own investigation.

I have cleaned out my pc regularly yes. Fans are working correctly and it hasn’t overheated as of yet. It’s only on Diablo i am having problems. If i touch my pc it’s ice cold due to watercooling systems and cooling elements.

This is round two with this guy. Same issues a few weeks ago. Spamming threads, insisting Blizzard is at fault for what appears to be hardware issues, hijacking threads, not providing info, etc.

Not sure they really want help at this point. Certainly not via forums. This is not productive.

I recommend they take it all to tickets with Support directly.

Ah, is this is the same poster that was posting that their BIOS was giving boot-up warnings about a power overload having caused the previous shut-downs? If so, that explains a lot.

EDIT - Yep, confirmed…

I think so. :woman_facepalming:
