It works but the game runs much faster than normal. Something is not right somewhere.
The above fix of replacing the DLL and VCruntime work. Took a bit of messing around but definitely stops the freezes on my machine.
This problem had Blue comments in August last year. Surely there is a definate fix by now, rather than us playing around with CMD line code.

Does not work for me. In fact the freezes have now become a freeze into a crash.
Yeah I am having the same issues especially when I am doing GRs in game it freezes for couple minutes and then comes back like nothing happened except my character is either dead or my resource is depleted like Hatred since I’m playing a DH this season.
I have literally tried any possible solution I updated my game drivers , scan and repair diablo 3, etc. and nothing fixed it as of yet and it’s getting annoying I know it’s not my PC because I just upgraded to a new gaming PC few days ago so everything is good and updated regularly so for sure it’s a diablo problem that needs a fix ASAP
Can we get an update instead of just closing the other post, also can this TOPIC get moved to BUGS where it belongs! Nothing is happening and players are leaving the season fast. Thanks!
Some background info would be nice, we as a community have nailed the fault down to FMOD and new Windows update not playing nice, what have the dev’s found? How long to actually fix if they are going to, if they don’t intend to, then tell us so we can go enjoy something else.

I had similar issues, but after failed attempts to get help from Blizzards Support, I got a thread off a friend about a guy who helped me fix my issues, @kneirs_hackers. I’m sure he would help, Just search him up on lnstagram

First i didn’t see the x64 folder and replaced in main Diablo 3 folder the .dll, that did not work.
Again died in HC due to those sudden freeze. I’m off Blizzard, bye

Yep, same issue, my hc monk hasn’t died…yet. But I’m not continuing this season. Guess we can assume the game is no longer supported?

It’s clear, all the resources for diablo is being taken up and has left diablo III without support. In fact, I’ve noticed a trend since activision has been involved, they don’t care. I don’t see diablo 4 being great with activision connected to it. They rush the development studios, in turn, affects the consumer. Activision are no longer a quality publisher, their focus is all on numbers and not the love for the industry.

Yeah I won’t be dropping any money on these releases until i see performance reviews. Have a pc well beyond recommended req’s and having horrible issues

Been playing SC, not sure if they patched it, but haven’t had freezing for quite some time. Not sure if it’s been patched or what, are you all still having issues?
Edit: False alarm, still freezes.
I’m going to assume diablo II remastered will be filled with bugs and lazy fixes. I just don’t have hope for anything activision is behind. It’s a representation of activision and how greedy they are.
A good example, if you look at the top of the leaderboard, these players have been banned before. They just buy another copy of dIII and activision allows it because they gain $ from it. But they don’t ban them till the season actually ends, it’s just getting ridiculous and I’d assume d2 will be filled with bots too, banned at end of each season to maximize return.
While activision is behind any development studio, you will never receive a quality product because $ come first and passion comes last.

it seems that the workaround doesn’t work anymore: trying to start the game directly, without the battle.net app give an error saying that the account made suspicious operations… insteed of fix the problem blizz preferred to block the fix. CONGRATULATION now i can’t play more then 15 mins without freeze pratically high grift are forbidden.

Season 23 Running a Wizard. The higher the GR the more freeze I get. This is crazy & sooo frustrating!!! My Demon Hunter doesnt seem to have the issue so far . Why can this not get FIXED??? I want to play the Wiz but cant at this point :’( Bliz plz FIX THIS !!!

it can be fixed if Activision updates the FMOD sound version and visual studio files and code in game

They literally just gave up. With no updates to the community. I’d pay for a fix…
