Legendary Gem upgrading is a slog

while this is true, have you heard of RNG? A 5% chance can result in wildly different outcomes.
So some seasons it might be super easy, others it can be thoroughly frustrating.

Last season i got 120+screams ,i just say more gr done= more chance to drop screams

Ppl do rifts 3-4min i prefer 1-2 min speeds more loot etc.

and I agree(d) w/ that part.
Yet I still stand by my comment regarding potential outcomes.

For me there is a significant lower drop of petrified screams. Last season I’ve noticed that I was having like 2x more of ramaladi’s gifts then screams in my chest, when I was about lvl 1300. And I’ve always had more then I needed.

So I started to count gr’s. It took over 30 to find one scream.

Well, the odds of getting one is 1/20 GRs, so 1/30 is not out of the realm to be expected.

Main reason why i come back for a season once a year at most. Teadious..

Personal experience note here.

I find the slog to gain paragon points to be tedious. What has made that more interesting for me is the mini-game of upgrading legendary gems. I know it’s not optimal to run two minute greater rifts at just ten levels above the gems and that it only save a little bit of time that I would need to ‘make cash’ to empower at the optimal exp GRs but I like the rapid rate of gem up-ranking.

I’m now done rapid leveling up gems and I’ve switched to 60% chance runs, and I’ve stopped empowering (for the most part). It is a real slog to level gems now. I don’t have a solution to the “I hope I get at least one success this time” painful feeling I am now experiencing.

That is where the real slog is. Maybe if you empower your first attempt is at double the normal chance. That shouldn’t break the game and it would take the feel of wasting time away somewhat. Maybe paying 5 souls to double the first roll and paying 5 primal ash to double all the rolls would work. I’d never pay the ash but I would pay the souls.

You know that thought experiment where every step takes you halfway to your goal? You can never get there. That’s Diablo 3. They’re not going to fix it that is the core of the design.
