It's time. Diablo 3 needs a Remaster

My 2026 Wishlist for Diablo 3.

Diablo 3 needs a new Expansion that includes Hi-Res Textures/Graphical Redesign or a Diablo 2 Resurrected style reimagining. should get the guys who did D2R and get them on doing the same for Diablo 3, this way Diablo 3 fits more into the styles of the other Diablo games. Just think about it, Even mobile version Diablo Immortal has hd textures.

Anyway, I hope its in the works already or if not perhaps let the right people know it should be. Diablo 3 could use some TLC. Thanks for reading, this is all.

I’m not sure a hi res Maghda is gonna win over the haters. Might result in more haters if we see Deckard Cain get killed by a butterfly in greater clarity

Most of us here know that the game does deserve more TLC. However, a remaster won’t happen for a long while, if at all. And it won’t be like we hope it will. It’ll just be sharper textures and a cash shop added on.

I would more than welcomed an expansion of D3 than D4.

While it could be nice, a game like D2 waited around 20 years for that to get it going for it. Now, there’s no reason to wait for that long because as I get it, the delay of D2 remastered was caused by technicalities mostly. We all know D2 was built on a rather old engine and modernizing it from scratch wasn’t an easy task.
But thinking D3 it’s 12 years and more passed since first release, maybe we have 2-3 years ahead of us for hearing about a remastered D3. Who knows, some development teams could be on it already. Wishful thinking.

I agree! It would be very interesting to see how Blizzard botches it’s launch even harder the second time around.

But for real it would be much more interesting to see the DLC they scrapped (in order to address the aforementioned botched launch) than a premium priced remake of a game I already bought.

D3 is no longer in development. Those are their words.

I would love a remaster personally.

In all honesty most of D3 is already copy/pasted into its successor. Probably the plan all along.

Gfx-wise, no in my opinion. But I would like to see continued development, so yes.

The graphics are not bad, but more up-to-date things like ray-traced reflections, better ambient occlusion, smoother animations, etc

I’m not opposed to this.

I genuinely enjoy the game and think that the art vibe is great. That said, character models on in the menu screens definitely need an update.

Gameplay graphics seem fine to me but if they gave it a pass with some enhancements I wouldn’t mind.

I don’t really like D4 game play. I’ve played it but I prefer D3.

Remastered D3 with D4 monetiztion isn’t interesting for me. Remaster must recieve offline play just like the consoles and fully separate online and offline databases.

Honestly, you all should be happy that you can still play it….I know that Blizzard should have not made it ‘always online’ but they didn’t. That’s there problem.

Just be happy you can still play it, and not HAVE to be forced to play D4. Yuck.

You do realize a D3 remaster already exists, right? It’s called D4.

That’s a whole separate entity.

I could enjoy NS again if they brought over the Altar and Fissures.

The two games are fairly different.

D4 is a demake but made to run on newer hardware.

I don’t think D4 is anymore like D3, than D2 and D1. They all share a certain familiarity and have borrowed aspects from the previous games, as it should, but in a lot of ways it’s quite different. That’s just my opinion.

Does D4 even have sets yet? If not, that’s a big difference in itemisation. D3 end game is heavily based around sets defining the skills we play.

No. D4 does not have sets as of now. Who knows if they add them in the future. It also doesn’t really have an end game.
