Item farming to get ancient versions of gear (or better)

For a specific item to improve like say your favorite weapon(s)…in my case either wom kim or vengful wind for my monk…which is the faster way to get ancient versions:

spending blood shards
Doing Greater Rifts (90+)
Nephlam Rifts
Bounties…and using the the mats to reforge non-ancient versions hoping for an upgrade?

upgrade rare fist weapons with the cube recipe, by far the best.
