Is marauders 6 piece bonus bugged?

That’s a good habit in general, but I can personally vouch for maxroll.gg as a reputable site. It’s only a few months old but it was made and is maintained by prominent Diablo 3 streamers and theorycrafters.

If you do decide to use the site’s d3planner tool, you can make a link to it here using the grave accent symbol ` to encapsulate your link so that `website_link_here` will appear as website_link_here which is a useful trick for people without trust level 3 privileges yet.

Herein lies the rub - you cannot say that “everything else is the same” unless every piece of GoD6 you swap with a piece of M6 has the exact same rolls. Hence my asking for your setup for each. There are massive variables based on what rolls are on each piece. Crit Chance, Crit Damage, Area Damage, ancient vs non, etc.

You may be new here, but peruse the threads where people ask for help on something and pretty much the first thing anyone asks for is a “link to gear.” Sorry for not assuming you were new, too many times people look at a single digit post count and make that leap only to find the player has massive hours and paragon on a non-US server.

So anyway, I tried something on d3planner to make “everything” the same. When you swap an item, it retains the stats (so a 600dex/6cc/48chd/18ad GoD glove retains those stats as an M6 glove).

I used my NS GoD6 DH wearing F&R, FoT, HW belt, dual wield with Valla/Dawn, cubed Cirri, Diggers, CoE…looking at HA damage unbuffed by passives and zero momentum

  • DPS: 557,932,314,806
  • Damage: 204,575,182,096
  • Pierce Chance: 100%
  • Damage Increase per Pierce: 143,202,627,467

with full momentum

  • DPS: 1,673,796,944,419
  • Damage: 613,725,546,287
  • Pierce Chance: 100%
  • Damage Increase per Pierce: 429,607,882,401

Then I swapped out all the set pieces for M6 (again, stats dupe) and replaced Dawn with Rucksack quiver, swapped Perfectionist for Custom Engineering and Preparation for Sentry.

With zero sentries

  • DPS: 5,319,280,489
  • Damage: 1,950,402,846
  • Pierce Chance: 100%
  • Damage Increase per Pierce: 1,365,281,992

with 5 sentries

  • DPS: 3,196,887,573,918
  • Damage: 1,172,192,110,437
  • Pierce Chance: 100%
  • Damage Increase per Pierce: 820,534,477,306

This seems to correlate with Iria’s testing as well.

Then I imported your DH, made a few assumptions on Paragons, didn’t touch any buffs or gear and got this for your GoD build

  • DPS: 100,236,966,703
  • Damage: 36,753,554,458
  • Pierce Chance: 100%
  • Damage Increase per Pierce: 25,727,488,120

As before, I swapped just the set pieces from GoD6 to M6 and replaced Cirri with Rucksack as you indicated…

  • DPS: 25,500,328,438
  • Damage: 9,350,120,427
  • Pierce Chance: 35%
  • Damage Increase per Pierce: 6,545,084,299

and yep - you are doing 1/4 the damage with M6

If I swap Ballista in cube to Cirri and NightStalker to Custom Engineering

  • DPS: 223,035,097,169
  • Damage: 81,779,535,629
  • Pierce Chance: 100%
  • Damage Increase per Pierce: 57,245,674,940

Again this correlates with Iria’s testing…

The point about “exact setups” is valid - you can only get the full M6 6pc bonus with 5 sentries deployed - which you can only get with the Rucksack (worn or cubed) and the Custom Engineering passive. If you wear Rucksack and don’t cube the Cirri (or vice versa), you see the result.

I suspected this and that was the main reason why I used Entangling Shot instead; also I didn’t want the Devouring Arrow pierce multiplier to get in the way as well.

We’ll see on Monday if Xorkrath will post the builds he tested so I can try to recreate any such bug.

Just a reminder for everyone; if you don’t have a min dmg ring/ammy for testing, you can always use the initiates handcrossbow you get from making a new char:

it really helps tighten up the damage range a fair bit
the above link is for the weapon, not sure why it posted like that
