If Diablo 4 does not have player trading, I won't be buying it - Long time gamer and fan

Let’s allow children play 18+ games then, that’s what you sayin? And on top of that learn them to bot and cheat, while playing like mindless zombies first days of Seasons 24/7 and using parents CC to purchase stuff?

Well, you have a very good vision of fair play, you all kids who defend trading.

Also, let’s let companies abuse RNG “rewarding” MTX purchasers with more quality loot?

You see where this is going? If not, let me show you:

Diablo 3 is the only game in its franchise that has reached the top 10th spot of the best selling video game of all time, at $30M+ sales. This surpasses D2 and the original Diablo. I cant provide the link, but all you have to do is google it. You are basing your opinions on your own likes and dislikes.

If you HAVE been playing D3 as long as you say, then you must recall the AH as well as trading which existed earlier on in the games release. What this did was open up the door to 3rd party vendors where bots farm continuously and then sell the items for a huge profit. You really want to bring that back? Blizzard doesn’t. One thing that I do know, is that trading will NOT come back. You can huff and puff, and say that you will not buy D4, but first off, you $89 is not going to matter, and secondly, if you HAVE been a Blizzard fan for 20 yrs, then you will buy D4, especially when you read about the fuss when it first comes out. Third, D3 does have trading in the console version. Why do you not play it?

I guess I’m old-school because I think parents should be responsible for what their minor children can play / buy. I don’t want to hand off my parental responsibilities to companies by asking for ID.

Sure, you are. Read some statistics about how much time children spend without parents at home. And after that comment again.

I agree 100%…they took all the qualities that made D2 great and threw it out the window with D3.

D2 was a complete mess in almost all aspects.

D2 HD as a remaster has ABSOLUTELY NO CHANCE on market as of 2020.

You would be very wrong…if they actually listen to all the Diablo veterans that have been complaining for years… D2 will outlive D3.

Let’s see then, the D2 decline on Twitch a month after release if it’s a remaster with no changes to trading.

D3 was designed for casual, short attention spanned gamers. That population will move onto the next thing. Diablo 2 thrives to this day…and there are many reasons for that.

Yeah, those who bot in it will thrive forever. I am sure of that.

If parents are silly enough to allow their kids to have access to their credit card details, whether they’re in the house or not won’t stop their kids going on stupid spending sprees with it.

The solution isn’t to hand over the responsibility to parent your kids to a company, it’s to be a responsible parent.

It’s not about the CC only, it’s about the time children spend at home alone, without a control from a parent.

I don’t know where you live, but the majority of world population goes to work to provide for its family. During that time, when both parents are at work (and some of those work on 2+ jobs in developing countries) the companies have to safeguard kids from doing stupid things, this includes:

  • OS and internet browsers to have parental controls
  • Online games to require real life ID to see age of player
  • All other daily services to be required to safeguard children from idiotic stuff

Not sure if serious. That will take away the grind, the excitement, the economy and eventually, the players… Glad you’re not a dev buddy.

I think Skelos is Jay Wilson trolling

You need to first realize “that”, namely what is meant by an advanced crafting system. It would offer you everything trading does.

If you play PoE, before you trade you visit a website and you add the item’s requirements you seek to trade. This same thing can be done via in-game crafting system. You get it now?

ROFL. Jay Wilson is probably at some slot machine casino atm.

I was really hoping you responded “F*** you loser”

I get what you mean. But it won’t satisfy the player’s wish for trading, might as well be an offline game then. Also, not really fun since you immediately get what you want. Bad design imo

D4 will definitely have some form of trading but not to an extent where players will be able to freely trade best gear with anyone at all times and by any means they want.

its like allowing us to freely trade primals however we want… it would ruin the game

Diablo 3 sold so many copies because people were expecting a massive hit like the Diablo 2 of its day was and didn’t want to miss out on playing the long awaited sequel of that. Diablo 3 was a very long time coming and people had been desperate for the sequel to Diablo 2 for many years. It is because of the successs of Diablo 2 back in its day that lead to Diablo 3 selling so many copies.

People later figured out it fell way short of the hype, plus all the problems, and we quickly reached the stage where the Diablo 3 isn’t even worth developing any further as far as Blizzard is concerned.

So that’s my response to the success you claim D3 has had, with its high box sales. It is largely thanks to the success of D2 that D3 achieved such figures. I wonder how many of those millions have even played in recent years?

Take the currency (real and in-game) out of it, and I’d be ok with trading. I remember the day seeing a so-so legendary for the low, low, low price of 10billion gold. By the time I earned enough gold, I was waaaaaay past the need for that item. No thanks.

If people want to trade an item for an item, I’m all for it. But I do not think an auction house is necessary for any game to be successful or to add replay value.
