Have nothing against lowered legendary and set items as long as they’re actually legendary and not forgotten souls like almost the whole time right now…
If ALL legendaries and set items were ridiculously strong you'd get a headache from choosing the right one you want to use...
Legendaries should make you fall off of your chair out of excitement and you should be like “OMFG a legendary or set”. Now when we get a legendary or set the reaction is pretty much like this… meh another forgotten soul…
Anyway a lot of people whine that all classes are behind wizard now when the solution to fix it is pretty “easy”. Just increase every monsters (including elites and guardians) in rifts and greater rifts health by 5-6% instead of 17%. This way Archon will crush 150 GRs for sure, but other classes should probably hit 140-150 GR at 3000 Paragon or less too…
If lowering the % of monsters health per rift wouldn’t be enough than just double the weapon damage on all level 70 weapons despite quality (normal, magic, rare, legendary or set). I mean double the amount of elemental damage each weapon deal (fire, cold, lightning, poison, arcane, holy, physical - only).
This way ALL classes would be able to run 150 GRs, much faster and grind paragons a lot faster than right now without the need of playing over 6-10h or more a day…
Sure insane idea, but not different from all the other threads with buffs to specific class skills or items and probably faster to add in game than worrying about redesigning or buffing every underperforming class skill or item…
So yeah either buff or redesign all legendaries and set items to match Vyr’s set or do the above with mobs hp per rift and double weapon damage only…
Don’t worry I know it won’t ever happen, so no need to launch the hate train on me…
Original D3 is pretty much what killed Diablo 3. RoS breathed life back into it, but since blizz failed to keep it in rehab, it died later on, neglected in a corner of a mental institiute.
Imo, all they gotta do is just decrease the drop rate on legs and sets, its too easy and fast to progress on gear, its just boring and seems pointless.
D3 lost its edge ro POE as they kept improving POE and adding creative content. D3 is in maintenence mode. There is no resurrection…only D4, which jas one hell of a competator to deal with now. Imo they need to have 3d acrion combat, i dont see how d4 can compete, with POE at this point.
Tbh I support Crunchyblack opinion comparing D3 and PoE too.
I play both with the usual few months pause, then hop into some interesting season. PoE is doing awesome job introducing completely new mechanics and NPCs each season while putting it all into normal league after season ends.
Diablo 3 is doing what? Doubling goblins, whoa.
My little personal opinion is that D3 could use a splinter of those cool features from PoE too, also maybe implementing fragments of seasonal stuff into normal league too - which could certainly live up the all time dead Normal.
Random Example?
Add a seasonal NPC, that can apear randomly in i.e. Adventure mod and spawn you limited number of portals(or just one portal - you die, you are out) into rift with randomly generated pros and cons (double golds, but all monsters deal + % physical dmg - you get the general idea).
Or add “evil shrine” that starts spawning hundreds of enemies for a limited time and unkilled ones vanish…
There are tons of options to add, PoE is getting bit confusing to play by keeping and adding all the features on top of all already existing ones, but its thrilling fun every time. Having a Diablo season around “random power circles on ground” is just pure meh.
Why so un-inventive?
Even as someone who enjoyed D3 classic I doubt I’d play it. Combat in D3, was the perfect combination of health sustain, recovery and positioning every time but nah. I think D2 did that trio somewhat better than D3 classic and I don’t even touch it from playing other games.
D3 classic was about swapping gear and switching skillrune dependent on your new gear piece, then farming a boatload of crafting materials to mass craft random junk several times in hopes for one to be the big hit. Needless to say that AH had a big deal on your gameplay, no matter what you aim to do for.
People got sick of that and most didn’t get how to play it potentially perfect so they demanded changes. Now the model we got is not what developers thought at the first place but created by fan pressure about what they grasped from the game. Now you do the almost same thing but the power growth is so up high and rewards are oversaturated, you don’t even notice it.
Well… at least inferno was still more interesting than braindead bounty runs and thousands of GRs as the only endgame content.
Imo they should have just removed the RMAH (maybe also the Gold AH) and adjust the droprates a bit to make up for it.
Then some real endgame content could have been added with the first expansion. For example a real PvP implementation instead of the lame excuse they came up with after month of telling everybody how good the development of the PvP mode was going to lure people into buying the game
But they decided to turn it into the other extreme and ended up where D3 is today - sunken into complete insignificance.
€: why is a 12 month old thread in my suggested topics?
Absolute nothing. Even if it was sold for 1$ it is still more than it should since you are basically paying for something that doesn’t exist.
But someone who spends 3 and 4 digit numbers to get cosmetics or in game loot should indeed have something like a portrait or an avatar that stands out so he can be more easily identified as an idiot by other players.
