because its simply too much work for them to make 3 different versions imo it doesnt make logical sense in the first place even 2 versions is a stretch they either keep it original or they open the horizons which could be a grave mistake at this point in time i think blizzard wants to please their die hard fanbase like myself instead of losing them for the long haul

While I´m a purist myself and personally perfectly fine with never changing anything beyond the already announced QoL changes, there is a demand and possibilities for changes in the future.

That´s why I think it is so important to clear that beforehand - before they might make the current version not playable in its resurrected form anymore.

And since D2 Classic and LoD won´t be changed anyway, I don´t see the extra amount of work to keep these versions going.

I would say accessibility and maintainability. The graphics is just a bonus, and they’re doing a mighty good job of it.
