Horrible in game lag

Hi y’all

Long time player returning. The game ran fine for me up until a few days ago. Now I am experiencing the following:

  • Drops in FPS
  • Horrible lag with battle net (auth, character access, etc.)
  • Ping spikes - will be as low as 50ms and will spike to 1700ms
  • eventually get dropped from games
  • last two weeks before this the game ran 100% fine

My PC is brand new, updated windows 10 the latest versions, all drivers and BIOS/firmware updates are applied. I have gone through all the troubleshooting steps of clearing out DNS and DNS cache, rebooting my router, running Internet speed tests (I consistently get 300+ mbit down and 50+ mbit up), trying to repair the game files, rebooted my computer.

Every other game and online service works fine. I can play other games on max settings, stream Spotify while playing and have zero issues.

I keep getting 3006 errors which are connection issues. This problem that cropped up about 5 days ago has made the game unplayable. I am not sure what to do at this point as I have ran through every tip and diagnostic given to me. The game itself just doesn’t want to seem to run and I can play any other online game just fine.

So, what can I do to get this fixed?

EDIT -

Running a Win MTR test, I did find one host that I have about a 15% packet loss to and it looks like xe-0-0-1-1-br02-eqla1.as57976.net is the culprit. Google searching more forum posts I see other blizzard games with the same server entry also showing lag. This DNS entry doesn’t resolve via nslookup but it seems to be something Blizzard owns.

Not sure how this helps, but it is the one server that is consistently giving me packet loss

The high ping of the specific node(s) were due to the de-prioritize ICMP configuration. The number couldn’t represent the healthiness of those node(s). Please read this post for blue explanation:

I’d like to see your full WinMTR as well to help you get to the bottom of this! Make sure to run the WinMTR when the issue is at it’s worst for 10 minutes.

Thank you!

Apparently I cannot “post links” in this forum, so I just changed every DNS entry to xxx
