After having skimmed over Icy Veins, I am wondering if the Rend/WW would suit my playstyle a bit more.
it’s honestly super easy to play I’ve been having fun playing it. Plus you can push fairly high with it if you decide you want to. My buddies were playing it while i play DH GoD build and we crushed rifts especially lower level ones. But even in groups we were doing fine in GR 110s on HC. Granted they both dead now sadly… but the build is actually really tanky so unsure what happened. One had internet issues when he died :((((( and the other just… dies a lot in general. Been that way for years unsure why he still plays HC to be honest.
I finished the season pretty much mainly using the Monk’s new Tempest Rush build with Patterns of Justice set. It’s like mowing down everything in your path. It’s not as fast as the WW/Rend, but it’s better damage imo.
A good lazy class is the Witch Doctor Zunimassa pet build. It’s not top tier by any means, but you literally just run around and cast mana spenders while your fetishes and gargantuan murder everything in their path. While they’re killing stuff, you’re picking up stuff. Plus your swarm of pets serve as a great meat shield barrier.
You can take things a step further and switch over to the Zuni Darts build for some mega damage.
There’s nothing spectacular about S21 that I should consider, right? I can’t recall the last season I actually played.
Oh, also, have they done anything with the experience gains? Back when I quit, P1400 was respectable. I remember it almost being a chore just getting that high, so I couldn’t imagine the fortitude it would have taken to get to P2500+ legitimately.
Nothing has really changed about the experience gain specifically, however evidently someone at Blizzard is resting their elbow on the EZ-mode button while creating new sets and adding and/or tweaking legendary affixes. This of course allows your average player to climb to higher levels more quickly. So if you haven’t played in several seasons, the game should feel overall easier to attain high paragon levels, especially after obtaining your first full set.
The GoD DH can be lazy, but it’s certainly not while it’s being built up.
I think WW/Rend Barb is better. The auto-aim nature of the DH is very nice, it lets you dance around mobs soaked in flame, beams, and poison, but the Barb doesn’t do awful in that state. With the DH, you enter rooms and the mobs spontaneously explode.
I’ve contrasted the Multishot, Sentry, and GoD builds like this. The Multishot is a 1 man SEAL team. Rush in to the room, spray and pray. The Sentry DH is a man with pet artillery. You walk up and point, and large shells come lobbing in. The GoD is like the C-130H “Spooky” Gunship. Just orbiting the target, laying down fire from the mini-gun, out of reach.
But as far as lazy, simply put, the Barb is self sustaining. Right click and go. It takes more to stall out the Barb than the DH. If you don’t pay attention to the Barb, you may just find yourself spinning alone, stuck in a corner. Do that on a DH, and you may find him stuck and stalled with no resources.
The “Momentum” part of the DH is very real, and must be maintained. Whereas the Barb, you simply need to refresh Wrath every now and then.
Barb is definitely lazier.
Both have their charms.
as a mid-level solo casual, i have 9 characters from 4 classes;
-1 plays at T10
-6 at T13
-2 at T16
…7 of them, i play with mouse only.
The new Patterns of Justice set for Monk is also a pretty lazy, one button build. Not quite as strong as WW/Rend, but a similar playstyle.
Many players advise GoD just because it’s fun and latest, actually the above two have same fun but relative lazier/easier to me, with minor play style different
If you want to run WW rend build, I would suggest you read Free’s excellent guide on this forum. [Guide] Zodiac Rend (Season 20)
That’s fine if you’re just looking to lazy speed farm GRs. But hopefully next patch there won’t be any lazy builds that are actually competitive for GR pushing (GoD DH cough cough).
At least for Rend build the push variant isn’t lazy anymore since you have to pull density, manual (hard cast) rend to maximize AD, and manage ground stop for BoM ideally into occulus bubbles while on correct CoE cycle. I know other builds are also engaging and the speed farm version of Rend can definitely be lazy, but I think it’s cool that the push version has more depth.
Yeah exactly Rend is very fun because of the pulling and stomping required.
Man, that just sounds like a job or a chore, the way you describe it. Like, so passive and unenjoyable.
yeah im playing since 2015 and in the first years was alll joy and fun, after years of playing and reapeating the same task (bounties rifts and grs) over and over and over and over for days and day and days, those task will become quite boring, is a job to upgrade a bunch of gems to lvl 120 for augment all the items and characters i have, there is no other choice or stuff to do besides that, thats the game…
Can you instead, like, play something you enjoy?
I hate feeling that a bunch of people still play World of Diablo due to Stockholm syndrome, while worshipping their abuser.
Path of Exile is pretty fun.
Give Star Wars: Jedi Order a shot.
I played Grim Dawn recently and loved it - felt like the real successor to Diablo 2.
GoD DH and Whirl/Rend Barb are both pretty godly and very easy to use (super lazy).
GoD DH is so lazy I keep falling asleep (nodding off) while using it. It pretty much destroys everything with minimal gear under GR90. Above that maybe start working on ancients and augments but it’s already going to be the top build of the season and it’s not even close. The Bottom 1k on the DH seasonal leaderboard is a 123 and the top is 141 as it stands(a few weeks in).
I’ve been watching a major streamer run solo 150’s with it already, under 3k paragon. He got to the RG a few times before running out of steam. Probably going to crack it by the end of the week.
also yeah, although one of my goals in d3 is to have the best builds for each class with lvl 120 augments and be able to do a gr 120 with each class too, thats a pretty long goal to achieve for me, im pretty lazy, so i take my time, also i play another games, my life don’t “orbit” around this game exclusively, i have grim dawn too i played it several days while ago, but something happened and i lost my saved games, and im too lazy to start again, i have poe and have played it while ago (i have a few chars in lvl 60 and one in lvl80), but that game is just too comlicated for me, also it requires a lot of currency farming equal to or more than diablo 3, and i dont have time for everything, also im playing torchlight 2 because is (or was) free https://www.pcgamer.com/torchlight-2-is-free-for-the-week-on-the-epic-games-store/
and im playing it right now… also i play hots sometimes… but i like diablo because i have Stockholm syndrome for it
I get it, believe me. It’s not like 2000, when Diablo 2 was the only game in town. Lots of options now.
