Bought a hard copy of d3 standard edition yrs ago. Now im trying to re install it but i keep getting the starter edition? it doesnt even ask me for the authentication key just strait to starter edition.
I suppose you had redeemed the key before with another account (email address). You must login with that account because the key was bounded to an account permanently. If you forget which email, you can try the recovery function on support website, or enter a ticket to contact support.
