[Guide] Zodiac Rend (Season 20)

My only concern with Stone Gauntlets would be if you had downtime with Berserker/IP - you might get into a sticky situation. Especially bad in HC. Gotta make sure you’re getting your Zodiac procs and resetting in that situation.

Yah it would suck to be stuck there doing nothing since your attack speed is almost nothing. I think you would have so much armor it might not matter. Once wrath resets your GTG.

Just tried it in a few rifts and the toughness is quite amazing, at least for me

I’m using the morticks CC version, i’m only at 8.6k mainstat, 1k resistances, (have no damage reduction secondaries) and with stone gauntlets at 5 stacks and other buffs up im at 1.7bil toughness

Thinking that Morticks + Parthans would be even better, but stone gauntlets + morticks is a really nice combo since you don’t require any stun/freeze rolls on gear to get the benefits.

Was nice and relaxing playing this setup.

Also I didn’t run into any issues with stone gauntlets and downtime on berserker/ip, even when I deliberately tried to force the issue, however this might be because the CC variant uses high CDR.

Edit: also with the RCR triune rune, my toughness would shoot up to 3.5bil+ definitely don’t think I need war cry anymore lol

The part about Area Damage I dont quite understand.
The AD proc will hit surrounding enemies. When we herd a big group of mobs then WW will hit many and cause area damage to them, proccing the extra AD attack. The more enemies hit the more damage; so it’s better to fight in high density. I wonder if there is any internal cooldown or cap for the mechanism? During RG fight, will AD attribute does any meaningful damage?

I read on diablo .fandom that

" Area Damage has a Proc Coefficient of zero and may not trigger any other special effects.

Note that channeled and [damage over time] spells calculate Area Damage as per tick, not per second."

and

" Against a single target, it gives no additional damage. Probably for this reason, Area Damage is not taken into account for the purpose of [sheet DPS].

If the attack hits multiple foes, each of them will have a separate 20% chance to trigger Area Damage, damage based on the damage they sustained individually."

That information is correct.

Area Damage when you fight in density causes your total damage to sky rocket. In single target fights it’s worthless, but a lot of RGs do have adds, so it’s pretty much always win win to stack AD.

Will be updating the OP with more info on the Crimson’s variant in the next few days.

One important tidbit no one really mentions: perma-Wrath is required.

When Wrath goes down, you lose 50% DR right away. This isn’t so bad vs the RGs, but in density it means getting one-shotted in the blink of an eye.

IP and Wrath must be up 100% of the time in density.

Stay tuned.

Proper management of skills makes this pretty easy. Speed running 80-85s now with a CC build for gem ups and paragon this season. Just can’t mash buttons.

The CC builds have been good for me I can run 85’s in 2 minutes on average and 105’s in the 8 minutes.

I only have 1 good ancient so far so I’m happy with where I’m at this early in the season. Just nice to be able to speed farm GRs with a WW build again. I still run a DH for keys/bounties since I can run Avarice/Boon to get tons of gold for empowering rifts and they are super fast. Plus I love spraying death haha.

I know DH are extremely fast but I would hate to control a character that can be faster than my fastest WW build. It is seriously stupid how fast we can make a character and still run T16s. At this time I still see no need to go to a DH.

Looks like you are NS at 2K+ paragon so makes sense you can fly through a T16 rift with WW. Probably don’t need gold either like I do haha.

I still use the hoarder gem for my key runs, mainly for the speed. Even if you don’t use Avarice you still get plenty of gold.

So what 3 gems do you run?

I’ve noticed this is most problematic if you happen to die when you are pushing. Die in the wrong part of a WOTB cycle and you have to stay dead during a bit of a cooldown. Obviously not a build killer, but something to pay attention to.

I’ve had a bit different experience with IP, though. Through 105 I haven’t used it at all. I would imagine if you are pushing to 120+, IP is necessary. For most of us who play seasons, though, the DR from the Crimson set coupled with Perma-Wrath is more than sufficient. As usual, damage is still the roadblock for me more than toughness.

Best bet for t16s is hoarder, teaguk, gogok.
And that will be best for any version of ww speed build.

For keys, I run Trapped, Hoarder, Taeguk just like Chris recommends.

Got sick of a improvised Bard WW with everything maxed out could only really do Torment 12 easily and Torment 13 with some difficulty with two major Led gems in rings and amulet with boon of the hoarder. Without Boon of the hoarder gem and three main led gems socketed can do Torment 13 or possibly 14 with some minor difficulty.
The Zodiac Barb whilst not great isn’t terrible either but can only do Torment 14 or 15 with boon of hoarder gem with some difficulty without Boon of Hoarder gem on Torment 16. My ( Icy Veins ) Seismic Slam build can do Torment 90 with a little difficulty if careful. Going beyond equivalent of Torment 16 on Greater Rifts gets insanely difficult and not really possible for Zodiac WW build unfortunately as my preference is for WW build. Hope to see WW Barb Zodiac or not, get a boost to compete with other builds. My only gripe with SS Barb is to much mouse interaction ( Clicko-holocaust ) whereas WW Barb just put foot on pedal and drive.

Huh?

Not sure if this is a translation error, but Zodiac WW can definitely do end-game GRs. Sure, it requires tons of fishing, but it’s very viable for 120-130 provided you have the Paragon, gear, and skill.

Thank-you " Free "
I’ll keep trying to get better gear to enhance/optimize build as I like WW Barb. All the best.

How does dual wielding work with channeled skills?

All breakpoints calculators and sheets I’ve found so far only consider one AS stat, but with Whirlwind barbarian I have two separate different AS stats in Details page - for main hand and for off-hand.

If one weapon has AS 1.2, and other weapon has AS 1.6 - how many frames will be used for a tick of damage? How many frames will it take to release a Dust Devil? How to calculate breakpoints?
