Thanks. Never recorded video before. I’ll have to see if I can manage all these new-fangled technologies… Anyway, I have around 23.5 k main stat.
If you have Windows 10, it has video recording built into the Operating System…

Sadly, my PC’s too old for it to support background capturing, it seems.
I’m using a Mac, so I guess I’ll have to look into it.
Hi there. I recently found an ancient flavor of time with 17%physical, 9%CHC, 984STR, 5%CDR, rolled MS for socket.
I am using a hellfire with 19%physical, 98%CHD, 10%CHC.
Stats say I will lose about 9%dmg from the trade. My question is if its worth the loss of 9%dmg for the flavor of time ability?
Thx in advance.
Ouch! That’s a tough choice.
Since CHC and CHD are both direct multiplier’s to Rend’s damage, I would stick with your Hellfire until you can find/roll a better Flavor. Getting CHC and CHD on your Flavor is mandatory.
Ty for advice. Ya and since hellire has supersticion it helps me surviving better when using COE.
Glad it helps!
As an aside, I took a look at your build and my advice is to drop Crimson’s and stick with the Core build until you’re over 3500 Paragon. You’ll worry a lot less about defense. Also looks like you’re using some of the skills from the Crimson’s variant and some from the Core build, but I’m not sure why.
I think you’ll have better results for farming and pushing GRs if you reset your build according to the OP
Ty Free. I use a mix to farm 105s for exp since i like the cooldown better. For pushing I tried a couple of variants including core and the best I could was 124GR in 14m or so using Crimson+COE and warcry instead of spear for more def.
Also I could clear 124 with Crimson and BOM instead COE. With Core i could only do 123. For my playstyle it seems 124-125 is my cap atm depending on rift.
Happy to help!
Yeah, if you’re farming fast, use whatever setup you prefer. Until you’re about 3500 Paragon, you’ll get more bang for your buck with the Core build (no Crimson’s), and you’ll need to master Spear. With 17k main stat, I’ve cleared 125, and can push up to 127 with a lot of fishing.
I gotta say that mastering Spear is absolutely critical to success with this build when pushing. It’s far and away the best tool we have for gathering density to maximize our hard-cast damage. If you’re having issues with defense, remember to use diamonds in your gear and bump up Vitality in Paragon until you have 800k-1 million Life.
Free have you had a chance to look at the boards recently? Some amazing clears with core build. I’m still having tons of defense issues with CC in pushes even with great gear. The second I drop TS-demoralize for spear its almost instant death. Even with demoralize I’m on the edge of death the entire rift. There are still a few godly rolls I’m hunting but who now when that will happen. Either way WWrend is way ahead of what I would have ever expected. It is really starting to amaze me as my paragon is starting to stack up. Speed 120s are soon to come.
Haven’t had time to play much lately (and once DOOM: Eternal drops, I’ll be murdering demons there), but I want to push with the Core build this era. And yeah, mah dude, I think the Core build has way more juice than most people believe. It’s incredibly tanky, deals awesome damage, and is much easier to gear than the Crimson’s. For super-high Paragon (over 5k), Crimson’s can’t be beat, but until then, I’m of the opinion that Core Zodiac is the way to go.
Dude, let’s hit some speeds again. I stocked up 300 keys with Morgan and I’m looking to burn them
I always can use a zbarb you know that. Everyone is playing WD right now so its 4man or solo. nothing inbtween!!! And BTW the top clear in current era is with the core build. 141 @ 6.6k.
So. After a very long break of multiple years I’ve been playing a lot lately. Like. Really a lot. I managed to clear GR 123 on para 1850 something (I’m still wondering how, crazy luck with pylons apparently, considering I finished with 2 minutes left as mentioned in a post here a few weeks ago).
Now, I’ve got a few more hundreds para, and didn’t yet figure out how to clear 124. No way, no decent pylons + suck at fishing.
I was also also wondering if swiping swords could help.
Posting a few links : ambo + doom bringer or IB ? of course I need to roll CDR on ambo. But do you think that it might help anyway or I’d better stick to IB?
Also, considering I might need weapon master for fury upkeep, which passive should I better drop for it?

Thanks in advance for any suggestion. I know that I could do a few more GRs given the gear I have and the paragon level, but looks like I’m not using ancient spear in a proper way yet
Sorry if this seems dumb to you. As you can see I even have problems by posting links
Was that in season 19? If so, the season theme was doing all the damage. Season and non season are radically different especially if you’ve gotten used to playing with the seasonal theme, which was adding between 10 and 30 Greater Rifts worth of power onto players.
I recommend sticking with Istvans and the core build for pushing. I also recommend practicing a lot with Ancient Spear.
Ambo/doom combo I only recommend in groups with at least one support. For pushing the armor buff from istvans is very important. Heck even the 30% attack speeds does help a bit too when cooldowns are tight. The main thing with ambos/doom is your able to cube furnace which is huge.
NS, sorry forgot to mention. Alright, will stick to Istvans blades and see if I can figure it out Thanks Free.
All good, my friend.
Yeah, I would definitely stick with the Core build–ditch Crimson’s until you have much more Paragon. As Chris pointed out, players are achieving some impressive clears with it, and it’s far less fussy than the Crimson’s variant. At your Paragon, you’ll do more damage with the Core build since you’ll be able to use COE and Band of Might.
You’re also going to need to invest in Area Damage and utilize hard-cast Rends. With the Core build, you need less CDR since the only thing that will be eating Zodiac procs will be Wrath. That would allow you to roll AD on your shoulders. From there, you’ll need to farm a Slandere that has AD. That and good technique with Spear, and maybe some refinement to your game play, will get you those higher clears.
Keep pushing and good luck!
As of yesterday, Luciocandido took top spot again with Crimsons clear 143. Good stuff!

Thanks again Free. Good to see such a great community around the game. I’ve been silent for too long unfortunately, but glad to be here now.
I’ll try switching back to core and see what happens!
We’re glad to have you!
I think you’ll achieve better results with the Core build provided the gear is of similar quality. Honestly, I think it boils down to play style. With 17k main stat, I’ve cleared 125 and can fish up to 127. It all boils down to good use of Rage Flip and proper use of hard-cast Rends. If you can focus on those (and it’s much easier to do that with the Core build), you’ll crush your previous PR!
And remember to Stomp mobs into Oculus bubbles! That combined with hard-cast Rends on your Physical cycle will detonate massive globs of trash!
Spin to win!
