No room for it in the build. Taking it would be shooting yourself in the foot.

Looks like I will be back to Rend Barb next season.
A season of Wiz and Necro was fun while it lasted, but with Wastes set on offer, it’s an easy choice.
Maybe we should start a pool on how long it takes me to get the BK set this season
EU season starts before US, so I’m going to have $5 on “at least 5 hours after Meteorblade does” please.
Considering my effort two season ago of 20+ in a row of the same sword, without seeing the other, it’s probably a safe bet
Would some of the experts here be kind enough to look at my build and let me know how high you think I should be able to push with it?

Any feedback welcome too. Thanks.
I assume you mean you’ll be pushing after the new patch? Because you’ll lose the 4th Cube slot and will have to give up FnR to take Band of Might and CoE. With your main stat and gear, you can push 125+, though how far you’ll go will depend a great deal on your skill and willingness to fish.
No I mean for the end of the season. I have bom and orotz in the cube. What could a skilled player do with this without much fishing and then how high potentially with fishing.
Took a quick look at your maxroll link. If it’s an indication, I did a GR129 solo earlier in the season with around 500-600 less paragon, lower level Caldesann’s Despair augments than you’ve got and without primal weaponry. It took me around 20 or so keys to get the clear. Not sure if you consider that fishing or not and I’m not claiming anything about my skill levels or lack thereof.
I’m gonna need an assessment of your skill level in order to draw any conclusions. (p.s. just kidding around)
I was curious what “elite” rend barbs would say they could do with it without influencing the jury by sharing my current progress, but now I’ll share that I managed 129 yesterday in about 4 keys, not fishing, just playing whatever I got.
I put 3 keys into 130 and took my lumps. No doubt I’ll get a 130 when I get good maps and don’t screw it up. Wondering how much more I should expect from myself after that, how high should I set my sights. I have dreams of at least getting a 131.
Self-assessment of my skill level: I’m halfway decent grouping with the spear; don’t make great decisions about when to skip, when to move on from thinning mobs. I’m not good at managing crowd control resistance. I’m not very good at back-pulling, though I do try sometimes. I don’t survey the whole map (or 2-3 screens) as the guide says and then effectively construct mass density. I’m at least aware I’m supposed to be doing these things, and maybe do a little better than I give myself credit for, but that gives you an idea of where I’m at.
Anyone willing to take a look at my barb and let me know if I should reroll %damage on my weapons to AD? Read through the guide and looked around the forums and online, but the results feel inconclusive.
Any other build/gear feedback appreciated as well!
Well, from a quick look at the NA board, it looks like the highest clear by a player with paragon similar to yours is 135. His gear is better than yours, though, so I’d say you’re looking at around 134 for a really, really high push.
Yes, you want AD. It will give you an enormous amount more damage than dmg% when hard-casting, especially since you seem to currently have 0% on gear. So that would take you from 50% AD to 98%, and this will nearly double your damage in high density.
After I got my GR129, I put about a dozen keys into trying GR130 and didn’t come close and wasn’t really in the mood to keep at it. However, that was a few weeks ago now, so I might try again with the end of the season being near.
Non-seasonally, I’ve also done a GR129 but at higher paragon but that’s obviously without the season’s 4th Cube slot. On the PTR, I tested the same Barb with a revamped follower, and got a GR130 without much trouble. As S23 isn’t offering a theme, I’ll probably be pushing non-seasonally to see where I can get it to.
Your skills with stomp/spear are just as important as fishing. The only difference is your skill is constant but the right maps need to be found and can be rare for things to line up. Myself as an example. Above average skill but I hate fishing so that combo gets me generally a top 5-10 clear in the world at my given paragon. Now in some other cases like rage or seras who have above average skills but are willing to fish thousands of keys have the top world clear at the given paragon and build. You need both or you won’t achieve the builds or your maximum potential.
Rage, thanks for taking a look and letting me know. I will roll AD on tonight and give it a go!
Isn’t that Chris? I see him at #44 @2368 and then Valenwood at #47 @2501.
I did manage a 130 but not sure how much more I have in me. I think my gear is comparable so it must be my skill. I’m astounded that Chris turned in a 135 with no fishing that early in the season at that paragon, what can I say. I don’t see Rage and Seras on the board this season (sitting it out or don’t play seasons).
Anyway I’ll continue contemplating whether I think I can up my game enough in 4 days to put a 131 together. I’ve gotten better at moving on from thinner mobs and skipping jugs such but I’m still settling for suboptimal density too often and not even close to masterfully assembling huge mobs. Thanks all for the feedback.
You guys are looking at different boards. Yes my season clear was with very little fishing although I did get lucky with a great first map. There is a 136 clear at 2100 paragon on the world board in 12 minutes for season. So max clear sub 2500 paragon in season is around 137-138 with extreme fishing. For non season sub 2500 you are looking at 132-33 maybe as a max clear. Thats just a quess.
I am not factoring in follower help come next era/season. Expect to see non season clears improve by 2-3grs and season clears go down slightly since follower is not as good either of the current season crimson or FnR builds.
Rage said he was looking at NA (I assumed seasonal), so I looked at that and saw you and one other person with a 135 in the vicinity of 2500. I did then also look at maxroll but only to search for Rage and Seras so I didn’t see the low paragon clears outside NA. Hey maybe that 136@2100 was like you - lucky first run!
Question about F&R vs CoE. FnR gives you 2.25x, CoE 3x but only 25% of the time. How much time with FnR do you lose to moving & pulling to where if you’re timing that right with CoE and add in The Furnace (is there a better option?) how much can you close the gap?
Yeah, Seras and I both mostly play non-seasonal.
I only grind seasons with zbarb for 150 gems and the occasional bounty session.
This is only the 2nd season I’ve played and the 1st one I played from the start. I was thinking about the exact idea Seras just mentioned - grinding gems to 150 (maybe 140 in my case) and carrying them over to non-seasonal.
